Me too, Dave! Eyes bulging! Lots of absolutes in @Sam I Am's post. Sam, love ya bro, but why the Dez hate, dude?

Like seriously, he's our best receiver. It's not even close. He's a leader. And those statements you stated in your post I quoted haven't been fully brought to the public, so we don't have the full story. That dude that owned the house, is corrupt as ****. Cmon man...
Doughnuts ruin everything :eek::omg::eek:

Until he makes his start on Sunday giving us something hopefully good to talk about, this is all we got until then.

Bye week

I hope no other player who has performed before getting injured actually gets injured. Everyone that gets hurt either sucks or isn't worth the contract they were paid according to some of the fans. It's the same song and dance by the same posters over and over again.

I look forward to having Dez back myself and I hope he throws up the X a few times Sunday night. I want to see Zeke eat, Dez throwing up the X and Dak pointing in the sky to his mama.

Go Cowboys

Dez will get a TD, book it. He knows all the haters are watching and will get himself open in the endzone for one of those back shoulder fades. Book it, Star, my brudda

I haven't thrown the towel in on Dez, Im pulling for him and we still have half the season to go. He has plenty of time to make a big impact this season, our biggest games are still to come which will give him the opportunity to make a statement that he's back.

Anyone questioning what Dez brings to this team and offense aren't real football fans.

Unfortunately the deep ball and RZ fade which are Dez's bread and butter are Dak's weak spots.

He has 3 games since the foot injury with full health. In one of those games he went over 100 yards. In the other game he scored a touchdown. And in the other he had a dud in the first game of a 4th round rookie's first regular season start.

Give me a break.

Fans are fickle.

I'm just always thankful people like you don't actually have any ability to influence personnel decisions.

In one of those 3 games (the opener) he had one catch for 8 yards and dropped what could have been the deciding score. Dak would have had a better game had Dez made that one catch that he let get away at the end. In the game he went over 100 yards we made a concerted effort to get him the ball after what happened in the opener. He was being shutdown by Josh Norman and most of his catches came against the other defender. Dez still has half the season to make an impact.

I'm not one of those who wants to be without Dez but I don't want a situation where we're forcing balls to him to make him and Jerry happy. This is how we ran into trouble with TO. One of the arguments Jerry made for getting rid of TO was he wanted Romo to spread the ball around more and avoid forced throws. It worked and we had a solid season in 09. Unless Dez can learn to run more than one or two routes and get open I don't see him ever being as productive with Dak as he was with Romo.
We have never really forced the ball to Dez. Again this forum over the years have been furious that we haven't forced the ball to him. Dak has said he won't be forcing the ball to Dez. Dez has not complained about his targets.

You're literally fabricating an issue. Probably because you have an agenda.

You're really into "likes." Funny how you made a big deal several weeks ago about a poster having more "likes" than posts and wondered if they had more than one account. Now all of a sudden you have way more "likes" than posts...hmmm. Those "likes" sure came fast. LOL

Throwing 50/50 contested jump balls is forcing balls to him in my opinion. He's certainly not open on some of those throws. I don't fabricate anything I'm giving my opinion and you're the one with the agenda.

Other teams are thankful when they have success without their best players and are excited to have them back and hopefully reach new heights.

Our stupid fans say "oh we had success without them who needs em" when our best players are about to return.

This is embarrassing behavior.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: The Dallas fan base is one of the dumbest on the planet.

There is a lot of spectacle and thrill in those plays. You can't not love watching him play.

There are also facts to consider. Here is an inventory of Dez's catches and something cowboyszone is going to need to face.

These were catches...
00:34 Blanketed in coverage
01:06 Blanketed in coverage
1:33 Blanketed in coverage
1:51 Beat man by 1/2 step
2:10 Blanketed in coverage
2:33 Blanketed in coverage
2:58 Blanketed in coverage
3:14 Wide open
3:40 Open
4:15 Open
4:45 Beat man by 1/2 step
5:12 Blanketed in coverage
5:50 Blanketed in coverage
6:05 Blanketed in coverage
6:26 Blanked in coverage
7:03 Blanketed in coverage
7:43 Open
8:08 Open
8:38 Open
9:14 Blanketed in coverage

I don't have time to do more but wanted a sample size of 20... That's every catch through the first 9:15

What every fan must realize is that Dez is unbelievably gifted at catching balls in traffic. He's also not very good at getting open.

If you go through the throws in this footage you cannot help but conclude they are HIGH RISK throws. If the pass is not precisely thrown, not lofted properly...if Dez slips...if Dez gets turned the other way...

Incomplete...or an interception going the other way.

And our new quarterback is NOT A RISK TAKER.

When you say blanketed in coverage does that mean by one DB or is he being doubled? If it isn't broken down as being single coverage vs double I'd like to know those stats. Also has this information been verified, or are we accepting this is as factual? I don't see a source so that's why I'm asking. Also what game was this a breakdown of?

I took the highlights video from the OP. We all have access to the same source footage...and let's keep in mind this video is filtered to show Dez at his best! We aren't seeing plays that didn't work.

YouTube link:

I was careful to include the timecode of each catch in case anyone was interested in inspecting themselves.

If someone else wants to finish out the whole video...I'd be interested in the results.

I did not track single versus double coverage...man versus zone...of course that would be interesting but isn't really germane to my point.

My point is that for Dez to shine...you have to have a quarterback with a precise arm, a high tolerance for risk...and a fanbase with a patience for turnovers and some occasional ugliness where everyone is looking at the quarterback and asking.... What the hell was that throw?
