I hope he can return to his previous form from 2014 and years prior. Due to numerous circumstances, we haven't been able to see that guy for quite some time.
But it's impossible to give exactly one definitive reason why because there have been several factors at play. His own injuries, poor backup quarterback play (2015), Romo not being his quarterback, and playing with Prescott.
And that last point is not a knock on Prescott, but it's a valid point in my opinion because the rookie isn't throwing into tight coverages the way that Romo would. And for a guy who doesn't make his living on big separation and being wide open, that impacts Bryant's production. Romo would pull the trigger on tight windows, trusting Bryant to 'go get it', Prescott isn't yet comfortable taking those same risks and simply throws to the most open receiver he sees.
Well said, Stash (as always my brudda, and good morning )
I completely agree (especially with my bolded to your last paragraph). Dez must find a way to bring his route running game up a notch so that Dak can hit him. Dak will not throw it to him simply to appease him (Dak has said a few times, now, that he goes with the open read, and thank God... that's also a testament to Dak, but that's for another thread), so Dez must play with a chip on his shoulder, get open, and show the world he's still the "X factor"
He has a lot of the world breathing down his back, and elite talent shines in the face of this type of adversity. Dez has been given no favors from the fanbase (sadly) so here's to him earning some of those fans back into his corner. He needs to come out and destroy his defender and create separation Dak ain't highpointing Dez. What we may see are those gorgeous back-shoulder fades we got spoiled with in preseason
