Lets not forget what Dez can do

I hope he can return to his previous form from 2014 and years prior. Due to numerous circumstances, we haven't been able to see that guy for quite some time.

But it's impossible to give exactly one definitive reason why because there have been several factors at play. His own injuries, poor backup quarterback play (2015), Romo not being his quarterback, and playing with Prescott.

And that last point is not a knock on Prescott, but it's a valid point in my opinion because the rookie isn't throwing into tight coverages the way that Romo would. And for a guy who doesn't make his living on big separation and being wide open, that impacts Bryant's production. Romo would pull the trigger on tight windows, trusting Bryant to 'go get it', Prescott isn't yet comfortable taking those same risks and simply throws to the most open receiver he sees.

Well said, Stash (as always my brudda, and good morning :))

I completely agree (especially with my bolded to your last paragraph). Dez must find a way to bring his route running game up a notch so that Dak can hit him. Dak will not throw it to him simply to appease him (Dak has said a few times, now, that he goes with the open read, and thank God... that's also a testament to Dak, but that's for another thread), so Dez must play with a chip on his shoulder, get open, and show the world he's still the "X factor"

He has a lot of the world breathing down his back, and elite talent shines in the face of this type of adversity. Dez has been given no favors from the fanbase (sadly) so here's to him earning some of those fans back into his corner. He needs to come out and destroy his defender and create separation :) Dak ain't highpointing Dez. What we may see are those gorgeous back-shoulder fades we got spoiled with in preseason :)

Me too, Dave! Eyes bulging! Lots of absolutes in @Sam I Am's post. Sam, love ya bro, but why the Dez hate, dude?

Like seriously, he's our best receiver. It's not even close. He's a leader. And those statements you stated in your post I quoted haven't been fully brought to the public, so we don't have the full story. That dude that owned the house, is corrupt as ****. Cmon man...

rofl, I'm just presenting amusing fact hah,. I'm not hating, he is an incredibly talented WR. Actually, the only thing I hate about Dez is his inconsistent effort.

If Bryant is right, he can add 7 points a game. I am very curious to see how he performs with Prescott. Anybody think he might tank it to help get Tony back under center??

Lol!!! Haley, no way bubba, he has to perform out the gate and let his personal preference for whichever QB stay on the wayside.

There's too much pressure on him to be productive, and not go half arse'd. I don't think that thought would even cross his mind, my brudda :)

It's not black and white. If you are being successful with a low risk approach...why throw to somebody who is blanketed in coverage?

And there of course some high risk throws that Dak can get comfortable with.

Dez can win a lot of those battles when he's covered. But there's flat more risk. A tip, a bump, a trip...a throw slightly off or ill-timed and you have trouble.

I think the video will speak loud and clear to anyone who seeks the truth. On Dez's catches...he's extremely well covered 3/4 of the time.

Certain QBs will work better with him than others.

If you want a comparison watch this Jordy Nelson video. There are some where Jordy creates no daylight...but there are a lot where he's coming open by a half stride, two strides...sometimes even three.

If Prescott concentrates on getting it to Bryant high in the Redzone...Bryant will catch that pass in coverage and muscle his way to the score. That would be Prescotts best and safest use of Bryant. Make it as hard as possible for DB's or Safeties to reach the throw.

If Dak is gonna do that he needs to throw it hiiiiiiigh up there so Dez can manhandle his coverage. If he throws it low, Dez can, still, outmuscle his guy, but it then becomes a little dicey.

Prescott is a very prudent QB...He will be smart about how he uses Bryant. Bryant, working with Prescott could score 7 points a game. The thing I like about Prescott is he gets the ball out to all the offensive players...that leads to wins. Bryant will help the offense also in the fact he s a killer decoy...That will also help the best RB in the NFL. This is what will truly kill the Eagles. Just the threat of Bryant.

Bryant helps us on so many different levels and aspects, my brudda. Well said, Haley! Teams have to scheme against him still, and now Philly will have their hands full trying to figure out who is their biggest threat. Good luck with that, Philly :)

They showed improvement after week one, so I'm hopeful that they will be able to build on it the more they play together. That said, I'm not sure how Dez's time out of the lineup will affect their chemistry his first week back.

At 27 he should be in the prime of his career but he hasn't proven he's the same player since the foot surgery. Hakeem Nicks was never the same player after suffering the same injury.

Nicks had far more injuries than just his foot injury.

Julio Jones had the same injury and looks as good as ever.

Hopefully Dez has been practicing a **** ton with Dak in drills and that carries onto the field (speaking to your chemistry point), Stash.

Elite talent has a way of making it work, making the play. Like Schwarber did last night for the Cubbies.

I would but you Mr. Fatty ate the last one!

I don't do sugar all that much, but I'm pretty much open to other types of food.

I gave up pork a few months back because a buddy of mine told me to do some research on pigs and how intelligent they are. It felt wrong at point. I smell bacon and I don't even miss it.

Fish is not a fancy of mine.. Just give me red meat and and pasta and I'll be happy

This is exactly the problem. Dez hasn't done this going on two years now, and now we're having to be reminded of it because he's not showing it all.

I would love to be reminded of it every Sunday.
