Aikman only did what he did because of the team around him. The Cowboys had a very good defense. And Aikman had a great RB, WRs, TE and and awesome OL. When Aikman didn't have that he was horrible. If my memory serves me correctly, one of Dak's ints in the SF playoff game was on the WR. They lost Pollard for that game. Zeke hadn't done anything all year. And the WRs he had were not good other than CeeDee. OL was horrible. So, if you choose to blame Dak, than go ahead. But, your theory has no merit.
You can say that about any QB. Montana and Young had Rice, Ronnie Lott etc. Aikman is a Cowboy great. Why minimize his importance?

Burrows season is a total waste because of his initial injury that took a while to heal, and the season ending one. I sure hope the Bengals are not looking at an injury prone franchise QB....Herbert is regressing for the same reason Dak is trending. I think it's pretty clear that KM had his dirty hands in on Dak's development, and MM has done wonders. The world wants to blame the HC for the Chargers issues which is fair, but he is a D first guy (their D is awful), but you can't blame Staley for Herbert's regression, that is on KM. I think all of us were hating on our last 2 OC's on this team, I just don't think anybody thought MM taking over would make the difference that he clearly has had with Dak
I did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was extremely excited to have a different playcaller, especially a heady one like MM. Even in the first few games where we weren't always all that great on O, you could see the changes taking effect.

100% agree, and I do wonder if MM kept our offense vanilla at the beginning figuring if he hits hard this time of year, adjustments will be next to impossible being so late in the year....seems rational to think this

The guys who have consistently pumped Dak on this forum are some of our more delusional fans.

But.

Right now Dak Prescott is as good as any QB in the league and his mediocre brand of football is currently a thing of the past.

Dak’s playing phenomenal and you gotta give McCarthys scheme change and the job he’s done with Dak’s footwork a lot of credit for this.

toney sucks. but he is talented and was a first rounder, was my point. (and helped them win the sb last year) there is a collection of underperforming talent. but he has guys. and him and kelce being the offense has been a recipe for success already. mahomes won the mvp w/out tyreek, and made it work with these guys previously. so it's just hard to say "oh he doesn't have anything." had enough to win the sb and mvp. but yes, getting even one more good receiver will make him look super human again i'd imagine

Take out the "one more". Mahomes is playing w/ a quickly aging Kelce and scrubs.

No, he didn't make it work w/ these guys. He lost his primary from 22 in JuJu. 78/933 yds. That's a lot to replace.

Toney caught 14/171 yds last season. He caught that one "Corn dog route" pass in the super bowl, so I guess you could affirm that he helped win the super bowl, but he wasn't even close to a primary factor.

Mahomes is really starting to get hit from the fallout from his monster contract. It will only get worse from here.

I think some of our early struggles had to do with lack of reps in the preseason a long with blowing out everyone we were playing that lead to lack of reps.

Nobody really could compete with this team early on so they weren’t used to being in close games.

No, it was more that Dak was learning different reads and routes, as were his receivers. That's why, at times, this O appeared to be out of sync.

Me personally, I cannot wait to play the 9ers again. I think it would be a different game this time. However, if we can't do a better job at stopping the run when we play them again, it most likely won't matter.

Yeah, I agree.

It was really stupid not playing the starters in pre, especially w/ a lot of new twists being implemented in the O. Most people don't understand how quickly crapp moves at the snap. Dak not only had to learn new ways, those new ways had to become instinctual. There's no time for conscious thought when the ball is snapped, it has to be practiced so much that it becomes automatic.

49’ers fan I see. That explains it.
Last month I was an Eagles fan you said, and the month before that a Seahawks fan... make up your mind. If you don't think Kyle is a great coach I don't now what to tell ya big guy, but god bless either way.

Hopefully, he cements this leading the team to a win in the NFC Championship Game.
As of now, it's merely a "Who has the best looking baby" contest.
Great, your baby won.
Now what's he going to accomplish when he's a grown man/woman.
Shrug.

Dak hasn't done anything to make that claim. We still haven't done anything in the playoffs.

if you say so. i think w/ the guys he has if they draft one of the marquee receivers of this class it will cure a lot of what ails. and sub 1k yards isn't much to lose. point was he managed in tyreeks absence. the fact that we're discussing juju as his primary weapon is pretty much the point.

SEA the only other team I can think of. DEN was 8-8 w/ Teblows.
ironically if I'm not mistaken the first two teams to make the playoffs with losing records actually upset the higher seed. I know Seattle did it to New Orleans in the Beast Mode game and I wanna say New Orleans did it one year as well. Now I gotta go look it up. Oh but don't forget that Denver team was 1-4 before Tebow became the starter and went 7-4 after. So they were clearly better than their record indicated. Orton just couldn't stop throwing interceptions which is what got him benched in favor of a guy who wasn't even supposed to see the field until he corrected his throwing mechanics.

You are agreeing w/ me according to the bolded. You can't claim his receivers are plenty good and then state they need a topnotch WR.

Kelce is the go to guy. Juju was the #2. So, you're saying losing your #2 receiver means nothing? Sorry, not getting your line of thinking at all. And BTW, JuJu was his secondary weapon after Kelce, so not sure where you're getting the primary weapon thingie from.

He’s always played good football. It’s just now we have the entire package or close to it. It takes a franchise. Delusional is not understanding. He always had the potential.
But, lol waited deflect, save face. There’s many that still won’t admit it, so give yourself some credit.

Listen, I understand the delusional take.

The reality is it doesn’t take QBs this long to get to the level he’s playing at currently.

It could be nothing more then a hot streak but up until we got throttled by the 9ers Dak has been nothing more then a Kirk Cousins.

Just slightly better than mediocre and not a guy who can do heavy lifting.

Something changed and it’s obvious to anyone that has a clue about football.

McCarthy deserves a ton of credit.

Everybody’s on the same page Prescott was always top five. Players running precise routes. Releasing the football quicker. Putting players in in motion to see if it’s Man or zone coverage. It’s the entire thing. That’s what changed. You don’t become excellent overnight. You become a team. That’s what changed anybody with football knowledge would see this
