Well I mean based on history no…but he said we have the best qb right now and I would not trade 2023 Mahomes for 2023 Dak.

I don't know if he's going to win the MVP or if we're going to win every game but we need to stop dancing around it. Dak is playing the position better than any other QB in the game and has been for some time now. It's no longer about whether he's top 10 or "elite." It's about is anybody better. The argument could certainly be made that Purdy is certainly on the same level but that ignores the fact that he's getting WAY more YAC than Dak is and the main statistical advantage Purdy has right now is yards per attempt by 1.5 yards I believe and that is almost completely a result of the fact that the Niners' receivers are averaging 1.5 more yards per catch than the Cowboys' receivers. Purdy is clearly ballin, but Dak is ballin more! But at this point Dak and Purdy are 1 and 1a at the QB position. Nobody else is playing as well as those two.

I think we're seeing that we have the best system for the quarterback that we have that takes advantage of his strengths and helps hide his weaknesses. Not saying that as a criticism, but too many fans just think it's about the QB's ability. There's a lot that goes into playing well. Dak's in a good situation right now and he's taking full advantage of it.

I think a good example of this is Purdy. Purdy has been one of the top QBs all year. He didn't look quite as good, though, when his offense was missing Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams. Same for us against the lowly Cardinals when we were missing three starting offensive linemen. (Of course, this offensive attack also has evolved since then.)

I want all of our players to be their best but most of all, I want to win, keep winning and win another Super Bowl. Is he the best? Is he the most talented? I don’t think so.
Is he playing the best of anyone in the NFL since the SF game? Not sure if he’s playing better than Purdy, but no one is playing better than he is.
Did he rebound better than Hurts from a SF beat down? Oh yes.

Let‘s just say,

1. He played better with less in the Kellen Moore offense than Herbert.
2. He has certainly taken off under McCarthy’s offense and needed attention to detail. So have all the receivers.
3. Dak is a very talented QB, but he finally has an offense and a coach that fits him.
   

The rest is just rhetoric. The great QBs are not worse this year. They are simply going through what Dak has been through.

• Injuries
• Lack of protection
• Poor receiving corps
• Bad coaching
• Bad defense

I love Dak as our QB and supported him when the team was a few stars nd a mess. Too many fans wanted him to take the team on his shoulders and will the team to win. That’s BS; no QB can do that without blocking, occasional short fields, at least 2 very good receivers + TE, and blocking.

Dak will have games that look poor in the future at some point. Hopefully fans will look at the whole offense and the defense on the other side before laying all the blame on the QB. He’s certainly capable of playing a bad game, but sometimes a bad game by the QB must be shouldered by others.

They’ve lost 3 of their last 4 games…..he ain’t doing much stepping up in 2023 he’s doing more crying actually.

Purdy has 2.1 YPA more than Dak.

He is at 9.9! That's an insane, pretty much unheard of, number. It's great for a game, but he's got it for an entire season.

QBs play a big part in players getting YAC, aside from screens. Definitely not something you knock the QB for.

Dak has been playing really well lately, but let's not go overboard.

I haven't been his biggest fan over time but yeah, he has been the best in the league since the SF game. Its not luck or a fluke. He makes good decisions, reads defenses, gets it out quick and hits small windows. He moves around intelligently too. He isn't a statue.

Dak deserves a ton of credit for being open minded to a new system and putting the work in. MM deserves a ton of credit for recognizing what system would be best for Dak.
