No doubt he is playing the best football in the NFL right now, but that is not your exact question. In no world should anybody take him over Patty or Joe, but both are victims of their circumstances this year. One is injured again, and one has total trash to work with on offense. Once upon a time I would have said Herbert is better, but he as well is a victim of his own circumstances which is killing his career as we speak. That isn't being negative, it's honesty and nothing wrong with being a top 3

I'm not the least bit concerned about which QB is considered league best. All I care about is winning games, which this team is doing. If they say that Mahommes or Purdy is better than Dak, but we end up winning the Super Bowl, I can live with that. I can say this is the best I've ever seen Dak play. I've got to give the man credit. He's worked hard to improve, and is now looking excellent.

Does YPA take into account all the 1-2yd passes the SF RB/WRs do all the work for Purdy?

No it does not. You can however find the air yards per attempt and the last time I looked it up the number was virtually identical for the two of them. I think it was 8.0 for Purdy to 7.9 for Dak. So basically they are throwing the ball the same distance down the field but the 49ers are getting more after the catch. I would also imagine that if you looked at these numbers since week 5 and Dak is blowing away Purdy and everybody else in the NFL. Remember Dak was at the bottom of the league up until the Niner game.

It's okay to want to see it end in the ultimate prize I totally get that. But I also think it's a mistake not to smell the roses along the way and to celebrate our guys doing great things. The two do not have to be mutually exclusive though some keep trying to make it so.

Mahomes, Allen are both down turning this year, if we ever have a great chance to strike and do great things while the iron is hot, this year is it. Just win. Was anyone calling him a bum in 2019 though? Jimmy G is a perfect example that most QBs in this league are going to be up and down. Also a good example that coaching, system, and surrounding talent has a ton to do with QB success, which is why I don't think you penalize Purdy for having good players around him, most "good" qbs do.

Naw I think people thought Jimmy was good but gave Kyle credit. But I don’t penalize Purdy for his weapons but when the race is close like it is I think you have to factor in weapons and sucks for him he lost on a three game losing streak when guys were out.

I am not the biggest Dak fan but he has been playing great for the entire season. minus the 49ers game. I hope he continues to prove me and all the doubters wrong by holding up a Lombardi Trophy come early February. They have a good as a chance as anyone right now. This weeks Bills game should be interesting too.

I don't know if he's going to win the MVP or if we're going to win every game but we need to stop dancing around it. Dak is playing the position better than any other QB in the game and has been for some time now. It's no longer about whether he's top 10 or "elite." It's about is anybody better. The argument could certainly be made that Purdy is certainly on the same level but that ignores the fact that he's getting WAY more YAC than Dak is and the main statistical advantage Purdy has right now is yards per attempt by 1.5 yards I believe and that is almost completely a result of the fact that the Niners' receivers are averaging 1.5 more yards per catch than the Cowboys' receivers. Purdy is clearly ballin, but Dak is ballin more! But at this point Dak and Purdy are 1 and 1a at the QB position. Nobody else is playing as well as those two.
