Dak and Purdy comparison is laughable.

I don’t know how you watch the 9ers and think Purdy’s level of play is anywhere close to Dak’s.
Dak has been better than Purdy, but I do think Purdy being 23 years old factors into the who would you take argument as he in theory still has a couple of developmental years before we would call him a finished product. Still the numbers pretty much show these guys are the top two QBs this year so i'm not sure why it's laughable.

Basic numbers
Dak - 3505 yard 28/6 TD/INT 69% comp 7.8YPA
Purdy - 3553 yards 25/7 TD/INT 70% comp 9.9 YPA

CPOE
Dak - 3.7% (7th in the NFL)
Purdy - 5.9% (1st In the NFL)

EPA/down
Dak - .25 (2nd in the NFL)
Purdy - .36 (1st in the NFL)

AVG Depth of Target
Dak - 7.9 yards
Purdy - 8.1 yards

Pretty much any relevant stat you can think of have Dak & Purdy at least top 10 and most have them both top 3 in the league. I guess you could argue that SF is so superior talent wise on offense or that they have their own version of football Jesus in their HC. I wont argue that SF has the better overall set of weapons to use on offense, but I'm not sure the Cowboys are that far behind either, nor do I think it's fair to knock Purdy because he plays on a good team. Very few QBs have truly carried their teams with poor talent around them. Mahomes was touted as the next Brady until this season after his receiver unit has been downgraded in back to back years. I'd even still consider a guy like Justin Herbert an elite QB prospect despite the mediocre results simply because of the team he plays for. Of course they wasted his rookie deal with a terrible HC who should have been fired already and now have to rebuild with Herbert making top QB money, but that's another conversation altogether.

I don't know if he's going to win the MVP or if we're going to win every game but we need to stop dancing around it. Dak is playing the position better than any other QB in the game and has been for some time now. It's no longer about whether he's top 10 or "elite." It's about is anybody better. The argument could certainly be made that Purdy is certainly on the same level but that ignores the fact that he's getting WAY more YAC than Dak is and the main statistical advantage Purdy has right now is yards per attempt by 1.5 yards I believe and that is almost completely a result of the fact that the Niners' receivers are averaging 1.5 more yards per catch than the Cowboys' receivers. Purdy is clearly ballin, but Dak is ballin more! But at this point Dak and Purdy are 1 and 1a at the QB position. Nobody else is playing as well as those two.
No doubt he’s playing at a high level. Definitely a MVP type level.

But one great season without any prior playoff success I’m not ready to call him the best QB in the league.

Based on career and raw individual talent there’s probably still a handful I’d rather have.

Dak is having a great year. No one is arguably playing better than him currently. And if it culminates in January and beyond then we can begin making comparisons to the other Elite QB’s in the league.

Dak is playing the best he has ever played. McCarthy has done a helluva job calling plays and focusing on helping Dak. Footwork is looking great. Looked like he lost focus for moment in the Eagles game during that int. At this moment he is playing like he top in the league. He usually does play well against the NFC East and the Eagles. I think the real test is Buffalo,Miami and Detroit. He plays well and this team has a chance against another matchup with SF.

We must have watched different eagles games, because I never saw Dak throw an INT.

@RonnieT24 - It's over exaggeration like this that led to Dak fatigue to begin with. He's played well the past (6?) games. Enjoy it for what it is.

R24 hates Purdy so you have to remember that any of his posts concerning him are worthless

Couple things...

Anyone that isn't happy with Dak this year is a moron..

Anyone that would take Dak over Mahomes or someone like that long term is also a moron.

Both things can be true.

With that said, we are getting actual elite QB play from Dak THIS year. I'm personally going to enjoy it as long as possible. Just praying Dak has finally gotten over the "big lights"-itis come playoff time or at least vs 49ers time. Really that's it.
this might be the best post on this board in the last two weeks.... I don't get why we have to jump one extreme or the other... you nailed it.

Another hot take by Ronnie

His last hot take was a post about how Brock was not that good … a day before we played the Niners…. and he then went on to dismantle us.

Dak is having his best season of his career and playing like a MVP winner, but do we really need posts like this before the season is over ?

To each their own I suppose …
Lol ... I said the same thing.

"The thing about Brock Purdy is...."

Is still an all time favor post of mine, after that game he legit disappeared for like 2 weeks.

Yup. I knew then he had no class.
What you said was not about class.
You're obsession to hate this guy (as a player) ever since he came into the league and dominated is disturbing. It's been going on for 5 years, 5 AFC Championships, 3 Superbowls, 2 Superbowl wins, 2 MVP awards, etc. Yet somehow, you're a genius and he really just sucks as a player.

I could care less. I want a Super Bowl.
If the Cowboys don’t win the Super Bowl fans like you will want Dak gone, as if replacing him is going to get us to the Super Bowl. All the haters are going to blame him if the Cowboys don’t go all the way. If it was up to some of the fans on this board, the Cowboys wouldn’t even make the playoffs with the QB they would be stuck with.

I don't care who the QB is. I don't care if he's the MVP. I only root for the team and the team's success.

If he can't get us to a Super Bowl, then why bother ??? Are you going to stick with him for another 10 years because of your love fest for a single player who can't get us to the SB ???

If he doesn’t get us to the Super Bowl, it’s all his fault? Don’t know how long you’ve been watching football, but it takes an entire team around the QB to get to the Super Bowl. Look at the issues Patrick Mahomes is having. Is it all his fault? I’m sticking with a QB that gives me a chance and Dak is giving us a chance. If it was up to you we would have no chance because you don’t care who the QB is. You’ll take any QB, but the one we have.

Right now? Its either him or Purdy that's playing the best.
