Gentlemen--Ever since we drafted Xavier Woods in 6th round he has been the rookie i wanted see

succeed the most...he is a bit undersized but he is a total baller and hitter and can cover...not only was he

an all American in football but he was an All American in scholastics so he is smart too..and a very humble

man..and he made some plays last night against Cardinals and big time in preseason too...lets root on

Xavier Woods

I'd feel a lot better about him if he were 2-3 inches taller. He's got a nice skillset but he looks TINY out there, and he lacks the speed of the elite smaller safeties.

He actually may be the hybrid CB/FS the staff hoped Jones could be. Out of necessity, he's spent a lot of time manning the slot already. We already know he has instincts and can hit/tackle.

I can only recall the play where he jumped up and almost picked off the pass. I remember seeing him a lot but just don't remember much about his game last night. I've read multiple posts about how well he played. I just wish I could remember more about his night.

Agreed but honestly I'd like to see Woods at FS and Jones in the slot. Won't happen but I think it might be the best set up.
Sydia-- i would like to see Jones back at cb and but Woods at safety...i guarantee iby the end of the season Woods will be a starter

so whats the average speed of other small safeties and what is Wood's speed?
windjc...Woods ran a 4.51 at pro day...that is plenty fast enough for safety...plus he is only going to get better..he is strong as an ox even if he looks a little small and he is very

intelligent and picks up things fast and very humble..i am almost at a point of guaranteeing he will start before season end

Even though Woods had a good camp, I remember some saying Woods wouldn't make the 53 and should be on the practice squad. Some thought he would clear waivers. I thought no way would he clear waivers. Some team would have snatched him up. Had the Cowboys cut him, he would be a Cleveland Brown right now.

While I agree, a word of reassurance...

The Honey Badger is 2 inches shorter and 15 lbs lighter.

He can succeed.

Hasn't he been a liability? Not sure if its his fault but the Cardinals have been pretty bad at guarding tight ends.....one of the worst in the league. Brice just reached out over him.

I don't watch enough of him I just hear fans talk about how he's fell off since getting paid...which could just be fan talk.
