I'd feel a lot better about him if he were 2-3 inches taller. He's got a nice skillset but he looks TINY out there, and he lacks the speed of the elite smaller safeties.
Yes...he was struggling to cover wrs in the slot the last two games.

Sllllloooow. lol

Even though Woods had a good camp, I remember some saying Woods wouldn't make the 53 and should be on the practice squad. Some thought he would clear waivers. I thought no way would he clear waivers. Some team would have snatched him up. Had the Cowboys cut him, he would be a Cleveland Brown right now.
Some....dont know anything about football....lol

Hasn't he been a liability? Not sure if its his fault but the Cardinals have been pretty bad at guarding tight ends.....one of the worst in the league. Brice just reached out over him.

I don't watch enough of him I just hear fans talk about how he's fell off since getting paid...which could just be fan talk.

He's only a liability when he's not healthy. He's had some big knee issues and they took their toll last year.

But he appears to be back to his old self.

As far as the Butler play goes. That's a really difficult thing to defend. It was more of a spectacular (and possibly surprising) play from Dak and a great grab by Butler.

For some reason, that annoyed me quite a bit last night. And to the person who said it was Gruden - it was the play-by-play commentator.

He made up for it by randomly roasting players, like the WR Golden on the Cardinals.

Gentlemen--Ever since we drafted Xavier Woods in 6th round he has been the rookie i wanted see

succeed the most...he is a bit undersized but he is a total baller and hitter and can cover...not only was he

an all American in football but he was an All American in scholastics so he is smart too..and a very humble

man..and he made some plays last night against Cardinals and big time in preseason too...lets root on

Xavier Woods

I recall the same things being said about Earl Thomas (5"10" 202) Woods at 5'11" 197 I don't think is too small

I agree it was a great pass by Dak but if Matheiu was 4 inches taller he would've had s better chance at defending it. His heigh and size at times does become a issue.

I'm still not certain about this ceiling but for a rookie safety to be pressed into time covering slot WRs and handling it well is an impressive feat.

I think he can be an above average starter but need to see more, but his floor is definitely as an above average Nickel safety. Either way, that is a steal for the price of a future 5th round pick.

Of course size plays a role everywhere on the field.

I'm just saying it wasn't the Honey Badger's size that prevented him from making a play here.

The ball was just put in an area he wasn't expecting it, and you can tell by the way he looks back for the ball at the last minute (looks over the wrong shoulder and locates it too late to make a play).

He's a bit of a tweener. He's about the size of a FS, but doesn't have the athleticism you want there. Probably smaller than most SSs, but what he lacks in size he makes up for with quick instincts and great tackling ability. Will take an occasional bad angle, but he tackles very well. I think he'll be fine in either spot to be honest.

He looks tiny. Look how big his helmet is compared to his body
