Let's say after we move on from Dez he faces us and torches us

Dez can still be a useful player, but he'll have to have the right QB and coaching. Man, if some team can get him to actually run his routes w/ conviction, will Jerry finally realize how bad we are at developing players?

Do you think there are any positions we are good at developing?

It started with Romo's destruction, but he had issues in and of himself that were happening at the same time.

Yep, namely relying on just his physical abilities. 10 years in the league and the guy never thought to get better at running routes and fixing some of the mechanics by working with a WR Guru. When he was younger the physical ability masked a lot of that, plus playing with Romo helped a lot.

Dez also had the infuriating habit of losing himself into the "game within a game" with his defenders. That guy would lose concentration constantly, barking at a defender, or a ref, or one of his own players, or a Gatorade bucket...

That won't happen. Do you really believe that this defensive backfield is going to allow Dez to take revenge? Sentiments aside; he would be handled.

Blame and job security don’t go hand in hand on the fan side, but even on the Garrett side, releasing Dez doesn’t necessitate believing the FO has pinned all blame on Dez and ignores the head coach was hired to win. That’s illogical because for that to be true it would mean any team that ever releases a player without releasing its HC is only doing so to make that player a scapegoat for all team problems. The reality is Dez’s contract was a big factor, and the reality also is the Cowboys releasing Dez isn’t a wildly unique thing other teams don’t ever do. Dez is far from the first high profile player realeased because his production doesn’t match his salary.
We'll agree to disagree. This coaching staff hasn't won with Romo, he was blamed for many failures. Dez was blamed for some of the failures. However I did mention he was blamed but I didn't say all of it was directed at him. If we are talking contracts their are other players on the team whose production don't match their contracts.

He faces us torches us....

And our QB still can't hit the ocean even if he was standing in the shallow ends of it facing the body of water.

Our offense looks predictable

And The WR's cant beat anybody, therefore Witten is this year's leading receiver avg 3 yards a catch

What do we do? What happens when we get steam rolled and finish 6-10. Who do we blame then?

Let’s go 6-10 and get torched by Dez before all this hypothetical talk happens.

The draft and camp haven’t even started yet, man!

When did the team place blame on Romo? How does using the same QB for a decade show the team blamed him? Where did they say it or show it?

As for other players not living up to their contracts, their are always players who fall short of their contracts, and others who play beyond their contracts, but the difference with Dez is the size of the contract. A team would have to release 3-4 other players to save the cap space they were using on Dez. When you hear the terms "salary cap casualty" or "salary cap cut" it isn't about the guy with the small contract, it is about the guy that is taking up a lot of cap space.

What you do is move on its a business Dez makes too much there are other better Wide Receivers who are
younger and cheaper

This could go on for days. When I said BLAMED I mean plenty from the FO to fans put Romo at fault for many failures. Salary Cap issues is an easy way to cut a player or use as an excuse to cut a player.

When did the team put blame on Romo?

there is always somebody to blame.....don't forget half this board blames garrett and coaching staff.

and based on your scenario, we would have gone 7-9 with Dez....so not much of a difference.
