Let's show some class here

And some people accentuate the positive and put a rosy spin on every defeat, which is the equivalent of farting at a funeral. Time and place, my friend.

And what does whining and complaining every week accomplish, my friend? NOTHING!

I hate losing as much as anybody but I am not going to kick my dog and yell at my wife and kids because of a loss.

Did their defense stop our offense of did they stop themselves? Their defense did not tip balls off course or knock them out of Austins hands, he dropped on the money throws without a defender around him. That's why I do not agree with the OP or what you just posted.

The Pats are good but that is not why we lost. We lost because we failed to make the catch, hold onto the ball or open a hole for the running backs. We commited dumb penalties.

We beat ourselves.

Wrong. Brady won the game at the end. They disrupted the timing of receivers. They pressured Romo. They didn't miss tackles. They didn't have penalties. They did just enough to stay in the game and win it until the end. If you notice, Welker didn't catch every ball thrown to him either.

Who said anything about "accomplishing" things? This is a message board, not Valley Ranch.

That's exactly my take on it. I'm sick to my stomach after every loss, but some *are* worse than others, and very few of them move me to emotional outbursts. The Minnesota playoff game in 2009 was the last one where I remember losing my cool, and that wasn't any fun.

I don't think he was talking about what it accomplished for the Cowboys, I think he was talking about what it accomplished for the individual doing the whining and complaining.

We all felt the emotion, and we all were disappointed and depressed, that's what happens when you devote your emotions to a team. But being pissed off and irate and expecting others to be pissed off and irate is pretty worthless, especially a few days later when the initial wave of emotion has passed. There are times the team just loses, and while there are always things that could have been done differently, that's just part of the game.

I wasn't referring to it accomplishing anything for the cowboys. I guess whining and complaining makes people feel better about their current state of mind. If that's the case, I feel for them. :D

I understand the need to discuss and to question and even air gripes - we all do it, and I am right in the middle of it. But there is a cut off point where you are unable to view the overall picture, give due credit in places that it is deserved, and to understand that not everything is black and white. It just becomes pure whining and complaining void of any rational thought or discussion.

I've gotten past that too. I think my last outburst was against Philly - 7 or 8 years ago. I thought I had broken my finger when I slammed my fist against the table. I thought to myself, "what did I just do?" Over a friggin' football game that I have no control over!

.......right on... and that's the part I don't care too much for.

I think a lot of us have instant reactions like that during the game. I know I do.

Because that's life. That's honesty. You see something wrong with the team or the front office and you react accordingly. Are fans supposed to praise the team when they do well and simply shut up when they don't? Not gonna happen. BTW, what does "whining and complaining" about the media or "realist" fans accomplish? Because we have that in spades around here.

I've gotten a lot better about controlling myself. I think having young children has helped to mellow me out. :D

Well, I guess that puts an end to the discussion. More of the same. :D

This is your downfall in logic - you equate not being pissed off for days on end with praising the team. Were you the one that used the term "Giddy". There simply is no logic to that conslusion.

And nobody ever said anything about shutting up. Many of us have comments and complaints, but we can also be fair minded and realize that the Patriots had something to do with the outcome as well.

Children make a big difference. They also make a difference in how long your mental state is affected after a loss.

Agreed 100%

Days on end? It's been less than 24 hours since the defeat. And Jerry just dropped some brand new "negativity" on us with regards to Dez's route running. As for logic, yours is to conflate legitimate grievances with "whining." Nice try, but fail.

And nobody ever said anything about shutting up.

That's clearly your desired result. One way to do that is to jump on anyone who has anything remotely negative to say, accuse them of "hating" on the team, and impugn their motives. Funny, but I've never cared for censorious bullies.

Many of us have comments and complaints, but we can also be fair minded and realize that the Patriots had something to do with the outcome as well.

Homers have complaints? News to me.
