Maher’s miss-range seems to be in the @35-45yd span. PAT’s are now @33yds, which is borderline.

Could see him missing a couple this season.

Maher is going to be a heart attack. Every kick will be a nail biter and I don't see him earning "money" status for even extra points. Probably not much out there to replace him right now, but the FO better keep their ears to the ground for an upgrade.

I would have had kickers in throughout the offseason if I were in the FO. The guy is shaky at best. I wouldn't even be concerned about whether the player is a "lesser known kicker", because honestly, just one year ago Maher WAS a lesser known guy to most of us and he beat out Bailey. They've gone with the lesser known commodity before so do it again if he beats out the incumbent.

You can't miss from 35 as a professional kicker unless there are gail force winds. This guy could cost this team several wins and possible seeding advantages with his schizophrenic kicking.

The crazy thing is we all knew he was shaky last year. Im really suprised we haven't pursued other options to this point.

3/5 in FGs ... Thats not good enough with Garrett's playbook , we are terrible in the end-zone since forever ; and rely on FG points.

The Cowboys play time-of-possession football. The good news is that it will keep them in every game. The bad news is that it keeps opponents in every game.

When you play this style of old school football, you’re going to have a lot of small margin victories. You absolutely must have a high percentage field goal kicker.

Maher is kicking 60% in the preseason. According to Bryan Broaddus from DC.com, he has missed at least one kick in just about every training camp practice.

Who is out there? Matt Bryant, that’s who. He may be old, but he was 20 for 21 last season.

You know how the Jones boys like to stick with their guys. Maher has had no competition up to this point this preseason. If they bring some to camp in Frisco, I think Maher will rise to the challenge and earn keeping his job.

I can just see it Dak and the offense take the field less than a minute on the clock 75 yards away with a great drive amazing catches by Cooper and Gallup they get down to the 25 with 2 seconds left in comes Maher Cowboy fans on the edge of their seat the snap is good the hold is good and wide left Cowboys lose. Some of you guys who really get into it may want to invest in AEDs I think you can get one on Amazon for like $1200.

Maher will be replaced. Any available kickers are on a team trying to win a spot and as soon as there are cuts I guarantee you Dallas will bring in some kickers.

On a positive note, Maher ain't as bad as Vandershank. So we at least have that to ease the pain of gnawing on our fingers every time he lines up for a FG attempt.

Yikes -- only 2 games left in preseason and Bret Maher is a wimpy 3 for 5 FG attempts in the preseason thus far. He's presently the owner of a scary reputation for missing from the right hashmark for 50% of his field goal attempts.

Don't be too surprised to see the Cowboys decide to give some recipient of a final cutdown heave-ho as their FG kicker replacement. Maher has a scant two weeks to display an impressive comeback from his woes before the staff starts looking to the final cutdowns for his replacement.
