Injuries have depleted a lot of their earlier offensive productivity.

RB. D'Andre Swift was averaging over 8 yards a carry, he is out

WR DJ Clark was a former 1000 yard receiver for them. He is out.

Starting Center Evan Brown is questionable.

Starting Left Guard Jonah Jackson is questionable

Their #1 receiver, Josh Reynolds, is questionable

Their #2 receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is questionable.

They are coming off their bye after losing to the Patriots, 28-0. So much for the prolific offense. The Cowboys defense get to take their frustrations out on a deeply wounded offense.
I believe all of those guys will play

This is one of the advantages of Rush over Dak. The offense under Rush was quick reads and get the ball out. The Cowboys really picked their spots on when to dial up the longer developing plays. Dak will make more big plays, but that also means holding onto the ball for longer periods of time so that pass block win rate becomes a much bigger issue. Not saying it is right or wrong, it's simply philosophy and using different players to their strengths, but there is a reason this Oline got blasted week 1, and looked like a different unit in Cincinnati.

the bucs defense and it being game 1 with a new OL , rookie LT and horrible gameplan to put it up 42 times(new WR core missing Gallup, was our #1 weakness) to 18 rushes(oh Zeke over 5YPC like many games this season only to give him 2 caries in the 2nd half) were the issues,

NOT THE QB holding it too long..sure he had too at times ,maybe WRs not open had something to do with it, yup, maybe Wr dropping passes, and the OL having 10 penalties putting us behind the chains. Want to see what that looks like from RUSH
10-16 102 2 fumbles not lost but he did eat sacks and fumble twice then 3 INts and a truly bad game missing open Wrs ,not looking at Wrs being open and taking short dump downs and soft lob style of pass had Eagle Dbs breaking on balls and batting them down in tighter coverages. how about the Wash game 2 INTs called back via penalty saves rush and excuses made like he knew the penalties were going to be called and there it knowing this :lmao2:EXCUSES, EXCUSES, Excuses!! He was NOT great, he got carried by great team play.. Facts are if dak played like that even in 4 game win streak he would be put on stake from haters.

RUSH IS NOT Better in any way shape or from then Prescott

maybe one area , taking snaps under center helps the run game and id lie to see Moore call more of those for dak with more of the I formation with Pollard and zeke in the backfield and using that formation for pass and run and the d has to take longer to diagnose which is coming. the run game from the shotgun isnt as good as it can be..

so lets debate that nonsense some more and you will lose every time.. it was smoke and mirrors and Daks just better. easily still 4-0 and maybe we beat the eagles with dak....

The Lions have the potenial to put up some points and have done so. Our D should be able to limit that though. My only concern is that the egirls gave everyone the blueprint on how to neutralize Parsons. Now grated Goff is a totally different animal than Hurts and does not appear to have the skills neccessary to take Parsons out of the game like Hurts and the egirls did, so I am not overly concerned.

We're all going to be holding our collective breaths until Dak rips one 30 yards to Gallup or CD on an in cut. I'm not concerned about the outs, bootleg passes or even the longball. It's the stuff over the middle that I need to see him recognize and hit. If he does that, even if it's against a sorry defense like the Lions, I will feel a lot better about where he is.

You don't think his groin had a little bit to do with that? I think a healthy Parsons CAN take both the QB and the rollout target. All he would have to do is fall back enough into the passing lane to eliminate the throwing option then come up and kill the QB once he decided to run. The groin prevented him from being able to do that. He couldn't change direction or accelerate as explosively as we're use to seeing. To be honest, I almost wish he would sit a week or two to let that thing calm down. But I expect they're going to try and get him to the bye week.

Well he seemed a lot "less" injured after lane johnson left the game. Sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due. Fooling yourself only has the potential to make one person the fool.

Really? Is it really much of a stretch to assert that an injured Pollard could beat a backup easier than he could the starter? His difficulty was not when he was rushing the passer. It was when he had to hunker down against the run, move laterally and work in space. And that continued the entire game.

Not really
asking a LB/DE to cover a RPO with Hurts and Brown, I mean a top wr with little help, someone needed to make sure a DB was also coming up to help..MP graded out pff one of the best actually tops on our team that game..he actualy palyed well outode of those 2-3 RPOs that DQ didnt scheme for properly. that speed and angle RPO is tough to defense.

in those instances, you try and limit yards you cant shut that pay down all game.

his Groin had him limited but that not why those plays work, this wasn't a RB or TE this was AJ brown and very mobile QB running this play .one player covering it is ludicrous.

right supped to be a defender on the qb and one on the rusher.. that help didn't arrive until too late.,even 100% healthy parsons wouldn't have shut that down IMO. maybe he gets there faster but it is what it is,

BTW we did adjust we shut them down in the 2nd half until RUSH threw the dagger INT that sealed the game..defsne was wore out and did all they could..hard to overcome an anemic offense that turned it over 3 times and committed ton of penalties.

I think it will be important for Dallas to put together some long drives and come away with points. Det. one big strength thus far has been the play of their offense and the best way to combat that is keep their offense on the sidelines.

A bad groin, fatigue from being on the field after 3 and outs from our offense, and going against one of the best RT in football.

Also Quinn is going to have to scheme a bit better vs teams with mobile qbs. They will try to use the eagles game plan, Micah will need support because often he was having to read the QB and cover, with no help (like the td where he threw his arms up like "anyone ?????")

....regardless, the record. Goff and Co aren't going to lay down.

I expect a good game. Of course, all eyes will be on Dak.

This could be his breakout of funk game.

The defense is terrible but the offense has been good. I hope Dallas doesn't take this one for granted. Campbell is going to be a good coach.

It will be hard for Goff to play like Hurts, he just does not have the same ability to run like Hurts.

Bro....sensitive much? Never once did I say Rush was better than Dak. I simply said that when you get a backup qb in the game the game plan and philosophy changes, which the Cowboys did, and in turn that really helped out this offensive line. Rush doesnt have the arm Dak has, and he doesnt move as well as Dak does. For that reason we saw a run heavy approach and the pass game was catered to Rush's skillset which is read the defense, find the soft spot, and deliver the ball. It worked really well up until the philly game when the Cowboys fell behind. With Dak at QB the Cowboys have taken a more pass heavy approach and utilize more longer developing plays. More passing and longer developing plays makes it tougher on the oline, and I'm not sure that is really even debatable.

Nothing about my post was meant to be a Dak vs Rush comparison other than the oline was in a better position to produce due to the limitations of Rush. The oline could lose more often and it not matter because Rush was limited to short/intermediate passes. Dak comes back and they have to keep the pocket for an extra 1-2 seconds so that pass rush win rate becomes more of an issue and will lead to more sacks/penalties if they can't improve.

Where is any of that incorrect? I'm open to the idea that I could be off on the subject, but don't just jump into a Dak is great and Rush sucks conversation for no reason.

Not sure that i would agree Parsons could be superhuman and cover two assignments, that's a lot to ask out of anyone, but I do agree that is an issue that will get corrected and not be an issue next time these two teams meet. Philly took advantage of Parsons, and gave him looks no team has, but get him healthy, review the tape, they'll go over it in practice, and this will be a non issue. Even the great players in this league go through growing pains.

I'd rather talk about the NY Giants (5-1) & the NY Jets (4-2) :muttley:

The negative Nancy's will say it's a "trap game" or, Detroit is under .500 Dak will put up "garbage stats"....blah blah & blah!

Yep .......can't you see, they are already setting him up, a no-win situation. If we lose, all hell breaks loose. If we win, even by 40 points, it was a garbage team Dak likes to beat up. The bottom line, they are covering their bases on both ends (lol).
