Drive 1 - Bad pass by Prescott on first attempt and then a sack
Drive 2 - Can't convert 3rd and 1 run
Drive 3 - Can't convert 3rd and 2 run
Drive 4 - Penalties
Drive 5 - Fumble
Drive 6 - TD
Drive 7 - Sack-great defensive play by Hutchinson
Drive 8 - Can't convert 3rd and 1 AGAIN run

This was not a bad Dak game, It was pretty poor by the offense on the 3rd down plays that cost us sustained drives. They seemed to have a letdown thinking they did not have to makeup for Rush's shortcomings

On drive 7 dak should have been able to throw quicker
Pollard was wide open
He doesn’t look to the flat enough under pressure instead he ducks his head (watches the rush)
This is an area rush is better. He will keep his eyes looking when he is getting hit

Holy crap....you guys are ridiculous.

It was one sack that came as a surprise to Dak. He didn't see Hutch until he spun around the RT. He was looking for a play further down the field, not a dump to the RB.

You guys complain when he dumps it quick and complain when he doesn't. Make up your minds.

Not just when under pressure. It is incredible how many times Zeke and Pollard have no one to pick up in protection and slip into the flat with huge space. Zeke in space isn’t what he was in 2016, but it’s as good as a run. Pollard, though, can turn that 5 yards into a big gain.

By the way, it tain’t just Dak. I saw the same with Rush against Cincinnati and Warshington.

if we cant run and convert 3rd and 1 then we have a huge problem going forward.i know the Lions had 8 in the box but even then we should be able to get 1 yard.
Agreed. Short yardage runs are an issue. Both backs have had some nice runs lately so I think the issue is in the blocking schemes for those plays. Could also be an issue with predictable play calling. Some of those third and short plays were like playing Tecmo Super Bowl in the nineties and your opponent guessed right on what offensive play you called. All his players then swarm you for a loss.

It seems to me, and I have not studied this at any length, that Dallas uses the little dump off in the flat as a last resort while other teams will use those quick passes to the backs in the flat as a designed play. The Cowboys will pitch the ball out to the backs but rarely throw out there quickly.

I never agree with you so I just had to comment that, I agree. That spin move was so quick there is no way any QB can react to that quick enough!

The fact that Detroit came to play didn’t help. Not all teams always do.

In my semi drunken first watch what stuck out was the usual….offensive penalties that they can’t overcome.

Also Moore seems to either be really good or awful, and yesterday much closer to the latter.

Statistically we are among the worst in receiving yards by RBs. One less thing a defensive coordinator has to worry about when game planning against us.

This is nothing new. The Cowboys lack of discipline on offense has been a thing for a while, especially the penalties. But it also shows up in the execution in other areas like blocking. This is why the Cowboys often miss on screens, jet sweeps and other trick plays where precision blocking and "selling" the play is critical. It is something that does not get enough attention when we criticize Kellen Moore. If mistakes were not tolerated, like TEs, and WRs missing blocks all the time, they execution would get better. But Moore seems to accept it more than some coaches. As long as he is Jerry pet it will never get corrected.

I was going to start doing this every week a while back because a lot of blame is placed on QBs for drives stalling, when most of the time it wasn't the QB who stalled the drive. This is applicable to Rush as well as Dak. They should only get blamed for what they did poorly.

For me, that primarily with Dak was the first pass, which should have been an easy pitch and catch, the pass behind Gallup and the two he essentially threw up for grabs in double and triple coverage that could have been interceptions.

I think Jerry should tell Mike to take control of the offensive game plan \ play calling for a week. Don't let the outside world know. Roll into a game against unsuspecting opponents and see what happens.

I see plays that are just poorly executed but I also feel that KM has some blind spots in how he views the game that other teams key on.

Would like to see someone else (Mike since he is supposed to be an offensive mind) call the shots so we had a comparison to better judge.

Good luck, everything is Daks' fault according to most on here.
