One of the main issues in 2017 was lack of speed outside and lack of quality route runners. Going into 2018 we had s lack of talent. Going into 2019 things have an opportunity to be vastly improved, IMO.
Cooper offers both the threat of a burner and precise route running, along with Gallup flashing some real downfield ability along with being a good route runner.
Obviously slot is a need with Beasley a FA. It would be great to find a reciever with size and speed with the ability to play inside or outside to really allow flexibility as far as who lines up where. You pretty much know Beasley's slot only, and he can only run a few routes. Adding another quality guy with a combo of size, speed and route running should be a point of emphasis, IMO.
Having the ability to move Cooper around to get favorable matchups would be huge.
I actually like Witten coming back as far as the TEs are concerned, because he's on an affordable deal and it sounds like Jarwin and Schultz are still going to get their opportunities to play and develop.
Otherwise, that's about all I have to say.
I look forward to hearing some of y'alls different thoughts and ideas, as well, along with the inevitably differing opinions to come.

Offensive line needs to be addressed

Wide receiver needs to be addressed we don’t nessacarily need a slot guy but we need a credible #3 that can be a #2 as well that should let us movie cooper Gallup and the new guy around and be less predictable

Please.......let's not forget the biggest offensive challenge we had last season was scoring, especially TDs. I honestly think this is where they're planning to lean on Witten. Is he good enough for 8-10 TDs? I have no idea but no question his experience and ability to get open in short space will give this offense waaay more than any TE we have.

I have to go into 2019 with arms folded and waiting for the team to "show me". For the past several years, I've felt that the offensive talent on paper was better than what they ultimately showed on the field.

You go up and down the roster and there wasn't another team out there with more big-money, Pro Bowl, 1st round talents on their offense. And yet the results always seemed to come up short. And seeing them struggle so badly in the red zone has me in "show me" mode.

I'll believe it when I see it. I'm optimistic, but I need to see it at this point.

Especially from an offensive line that should be among the best in the league given the investments. That group more than any other needs to rebound.

Jason Witten has NEVER had speed but he's won playing the mental game. Like reading defenses or defensive player moves. That how he always been able to get open. Go back and review resignation presser and listen to Garrett give a 5 min speech of his favorite Witten play.

Great, another guy that's going to say "show me" to everything displayed.
The most boring of posters.

Just tell me you're going to keep arguing with people so I can have peace.

I agree with the WR3 being an inside-out WR...they have Ced Wilson n Hurns coming back, but adding another guy as insurance is ideal.

Cowboys need a good RB2 and play him, so Zeke can be more fresh. The draft has some good prospects, and FA is decent, too.

A veteran backup QB might be on the list. I like the idea of Sean Mannion, a cheap option that's better than Rush, and might push Dak a bit w/o taking his job.

Weapons to include o-line and other "if they stayed/are healthy* scenarios...

Smitty- top 3 to 5 at worst when healthy
FredBeard top 3 when healthy
Martin best when healthy

Coop- probably top 10
Beas- top 10 slot
Zeke- top 3

So, by my count, three fifths of your healthy starting o-line are close to the tops at their position
Along with a top runner, top10 outside receiver as well as top 10 slot receiver

The other guard and right tackle are not total trash

I concede the Tight End play is severely lacking...

That leaves the one who touches the ball every single center exchange
But some will tell you that this position has no defined level of when accountability starts and ends

Pre snap reads do not exist to these type people

Nor do audibles

Tangible accountability, as in the ONE guy who basically controls the entire operation of a play's execution gets kid glove treatment because of hidden message board agenda bias here

Love the extremely young ones doing tired face palms and mockery

It's a little more concerning coming from the older fan base

Their worn out cliche of how this position is but one of 11 but dictated only by when a poor performance has occurred at the QB position, which is often

DieHardBlues explains this QB conundrum rather well to which I wholeheartedly agree

The inevitable hundred million dollar mistake. And we thought Carr and Crawford were bad...

Return on Investment anyone

I do it just for you! I actually fear conflict.

Well, it doesn't take a genius to figure out this offense is going to explode this year. The new OC was a brilliant move. Just look at his resume:

2012 - games played 0; zeroes across the board for stats
2013 - out of the NFL
2014 - games played 0; zeroes across the board for stats
2015 - games played 3; completed 61/104; 779 yards; 4 TDs; 6 ints
2016 - IR, never played
2017 - signed and cut twice, eventually resigned to the practice squad
2018 - QB coach
2019 - OC

This dude's resume is very impressive. I can't believe Jerry waited so long to move him to such an important position. Some coaches have to build their reputations over 20 plus years, but that's not a requirement in the Jerry universe.

Ladies and germs, meet your 2019 scapegoat.

Excellent post. Either that or your 2020 Head Coach.
