Thank you for posting!

However I disagree slightly.

What this team has lacked over the last 10 years has been talent. That's really the bottom line.

I believe you nailed it with this quote. I also think you could further expound that Coach Parcells has had to learn to trust this team. He has a very young defense and essentially no viable back up at QB. If Bledsoe goes down so does our season, hence the clock management game planning. Bledsoe has thrown quite a bit, but I still believe that this offense has been throttled back somewhat. Since we have passed the half way mark, we should begin to see the offense opened up if the defense keeps up their performance.

Tonight’s game should be an excellent measure of where this team’s maturity is. If they come out amidst all the distractions and blow out the Eagles then we could be in for something special this year. How great is it to be sitting here at the half way mark and wondering if we have a team that could take us back to the Super Bowl?

Even better is seeing the future of this team secured through new players and a solid core of personnel that should make us competitive for the next few years. Another Dynasty? How great would that be?

Jon

Jon,

Well put.

Yes, before you can even begin to worry about "kill shots" and what not you need to have the talent on the field that can do the job.

Outside of maybe Seattle, I think we've been the more talented team week in and week out. That being the case, yes we should be 6-1. Why aren't we?

I think Parcells trusting his players has something to do with it.

I still think getting to crazy with the passing game is a path to ultimate destruction.

We're building a very, very good defense. And with that defense this offense shouldn't have to put 40 points up every week. If it puts up something in the low twenties we're fine.

We still have major problems on special teams and that could jeopardize our post-season party.
