Lettuce, Tomatos, etc on Hamburgers: Why?

I'm also very glad you made it out ok and seem to be doing well.

I'll be 60 my next birthday, I'm not even sure what "well" is anymore. LOL
I always have to remember that I could be doing way worse.
I do have several limitations that I did not used to have, but nothing that big.

That's life.

I eat turkey burgers... Having said that, I dress them depending on the restaurant I buy them from.

If I'm at home and it's just a quickie meal, then it's probably going to have cheese, mustard, and pickles.

If you're hungover...

Fry an egg or two and put some shredded cheddar, hotsauce, and ketchup on it. Toast the bun.

Fried egg on a burger works well. But the yolk needs to be super runny

There's a place in Arlington, Chop House Burgers, that makes a burger that's char-grilled ground beef and slow oven-roasted brisket mixed to form a patty (yep, you read that right), house made steak sauce, apple wood bacon and smoked cheddar cheese on a butter toasted bun. Soooo good!

Do you eat it hot or cold? (I assume cold but ??) I use to eat cottage cheese (cold of course) with pepper and salt as a kid but I just don't want it anymore. But my Dad still loves it that way.

after school me and my friend would eat cottage cheese with lays potato chips and a ton of black pepper..curious bout baked beans...oh and dont mind the rabbit food on burgers. no avacado tho, texture thing. love avacados tho

I love turkey patties for burgers. Some of the pre-made, name brands are pretty good. I'll also buy the ground turkey and make-up my own mix w/ other meats and use it for everything from burgers to meatloaves to meat sauces/meatballs for spaghetti or in casseroles.

Dude, you need to send me one of your favorite meatloaf recipes. I love meatloaf and have been looking for a simple but delicious recipe. I look on the web, but most of them are all the same, so maybe yours will be also, but could be a little different because you remind me of someone that is a damn good cook! I love the crispy parts of meatloaf! :D

You just stick that on your hip. You don't even have to eat it.

Looks pretty yummy. Darn you! I bypassed my favorite burger joint today listening to my wife whine about my being so mean to her. She forgave me when I made her rice noodles with snow pea pods and shrimp.

They're ok if you put beef tallow in them. But then why bother unless you killed the turkey in which case I smoke it. Yum!

LT and mayo with hot fresh fries and I'm happy.

Since I stopped eating beef awhile ago, I've had to adapt ground turkey to all the stuff I used to use ground beef for. Gotta tell you, ground turkey, and turkey products, in general, have come a looong way. I don't really mix ground turkey with much, other than turkey sausage. And I do that mainly for dirty rice and nachos.

Has anyone tried a smashburger? I heard they're good.

That is one of the contenders in the best burger contest reported in the metroplex a week or so ago.
They put pictures in the paper and they did not resemble any burgers i had ever run across.
They just looked large and greasy to me.
The meat makes the burger for me,plus cheese and peppers.

I was watching something on TV and they showed how they were prepared. I hear they're great definitely want to try one. I think they have a location in the LA area.
