Lewis had surgery last night?

Very unhappy with this news. Jordan can cover the slot, and I see most of his INTs and pass break ups occurring near the first down marker.

I think we have more depth in our D-Line than our secondary, so secondary is definitely not where I want any injuries, but hopefully Bland can take over, or add certain additional attributes. Willing to give him a couple of bad games to get it out of the way, but if he struggles continuously, I think we need to look for some additional slot corner depth.

There are about 3 players who can play his position better than him...

Joseph, Bland, and Wright.. all better, imo.

I said I’d rather have Lewis because I’d rather have Lewis.

That doesn’t change what I saw from Bland in the preseason though. I watched (and re-watched) him very closely and my opinion is that he’s going to play pretty well with Lewis out.

I’ve been wrong before but when a guy looks that solid in his rookie preseason and then in a regular season game, he can usually play. He showed exceptional football IQ IMO, which is the biggest thing in playing well as a rookie.

He’ll have some ups and downs, but my expectations for him are fairly high. Here’s hoping I’m right.

Also, Joseph is a baller too. People don't want to admit he has skills, because they don't like him. But he's a player, too.
