The fact these BS threads get so much attention and the worthy ones don't is a cause for concern with me.
Every other thread requires a legal degree to post in.

I would tend to agree. However, who deems which threads worthy ?

Lighten up a little.

No, the fans have everyday work jobs to keep them out of crime. Families, kids, all take that time that, according to him, would be spent holding up convenience stores, robbing old ladies on the street, ya know, creating mayhem and discontent.

It's the players who have "nothing else to do" His comments are describing players, not fans.

And he's wrong, if anything, the lockout will cause church attendance to rise, especially in the Pacific and Alaska Time Zones.

Finally, the C in "rap" is silent. But it's there.

Clearly we didn't read it the same, but if you read the entire original espn story about it, you get a sense of why he was referring to the fans, not the players.

He talks about the game affecting more than just the players and owners.. and he talks about how he knows the streets and knows the kind of people that you and me don't see everyday and how they'll react to there being no football.

Its all silly, but it shows pretty clearly he is referring to people beyond just the players and owners, aka the fans.

Lol.

I love the irony.

Says the man who was charged with murder 10 years ago during the Super Bowl.

Looks to me like that 'evil' will prevail whether or not there is a game or not. It's human nature, the majority of us suck, esp the 'products of their environment' that will continue to be in and out of the correctional system whether or not there is a Monday Night game or not.

But he's right in the sense that crime will increase dramatically, not with fans, but with players.

Ray Lewis hasn't been in the headlines during the longest work stoppage in NFL history, but that doesn't mean the man is without an opinion.

The longtime Baltimore Ravens linebacker said in an interview with ESPN that he believes the consequences of a lingering lockout will be negative and far-reaching.

"Do this research if we don't have a season -- watch how much evil, which we call crime, watch how much crime picks up, if you take away our game," Lewis said.

When asked why crime would increase, the 12-time Pro Bowl player said "there's nothing else to do."

I thought Ray gave up killing people in his spare time. Maybe he's worried about idle hands.

If it weren't for football, probably 3/4 of those that play every Sunday would be in jail, parole, or wanted.

Evil (i.e. crime) preys and thrives on boredom. In that sense, Ray Lewis is right.

Because without football, 3/4 of those that play on Sunday would still be dirt poor in the same run down inner city slums they grew up in. The only thing preventing them from committing crimes (sometimes) is football, and the criminals who came from the same type of background as they did are going to commit crimes regardless of whether or not football is being played.

I don't mind the humor in them. That's not concerning at all.

Maybe if more people testified about a crime they have knowledge about or gave info to the police...in order to help the police/law put said people away there would not be as much crime.

Hint Hint Ray Ray.

Well said.

Of course not, I was referencing the 3/4 number ninja used in his post describing the percentage of players he felt would be criminals without football

Not the best guy to be making statements such as this...although his credibility is certainly not questioned.

Judges will be confronting criminals with the choice of jail or the NFL.
