Horn fans? Where are you? Input???

I text 2 of the biggest Longhorn homers I know as to whether or not he's worth a 1st, neither have responded:(

I have seen him play for the past 2 years...

Nothing special here, keep looking.

Sweed will be lucky to get in in the fourth round...

No flipping way he's worth a first round pick...

I wouldn't give up a first DAY pick for him.

I agree. I am not a Sweed fan at all. I think some of our Horn fans should weigh in on the Sweed factor.

i'm a horn fan - sweed always seemed pretty good to me but nothing outstanding that made me have to have him on the team.

I agree. I'm a big Horns fan but I don't base my opinions of players based on where they played be it at Texas, Texas A&M or some other college. When it comes to the draft I try to give an honest opinion and when it comes to the Cowboys I want to get the best we can regardless of the school a kid attended. As for Sweed I think he is a good player and I while I don't think he is a 1st rd selection I think he will get selected in day 1.

no. i love texas. i almost attended there before deciding on another school. limas is an over rated possesion receiver. think mike williams.

Babe Laufenberg always talks about Alvin Harper. He said from the very first day he ever practiced with him he noticed that he was a great WR just as long as he was always running up the field. If he ever had to run a route where he had to cut sharply or come back to the ball he was worthless. Too long legged and too slow out of his breaks. That's what Limas is, but probably a step or two slower than Harper.

No, he will go in the 1st or 2nd round and whatever team drafts him will be end up being disappointed. Sounds like a Mike Shanahan type pick to me.

I don't see Sweed going much higher than mid-3rd, and I may be generous at that.

Big, tall-ish boy w/ ok hands and speed, but never quite made that step that separated him from the crowd and kept him there.

There is no bigger Horn fan than me.....but I would pass on Sweed.

If he's around in the 7th..maybe.

Well I'm a long time reader of this board but just never come around to posting..here is a topic I can really talk about though and share some insight.

I went to high school and played basketball with Limas in Brenham and lets just say that the kid has reached his maximum level already. Never in my life did I understand the hype around him. His work ethic is super lazy and he never made one single big play his entire high school career. At UT he was a solid receiver, but nothing magnificent and nothing that warrants him being a first round pick.

People always wanted to compare him to Roy Williams but he doesn't even have half the heart that he did, and we all know Roy doesn't have much passion to begin with.

I have thought how cool it would be to see Limas in a Cowboys uniform because I could then say I hooped with him and guarded him in practice, but I'd only take a flyer on him after the fourth round.

Limas Sweed, the Texas receiver on the South squad, slightly reinjured his wrist and will no longer practice or play. Sweed originally hurt his wrist in October and surgery was required to repair the damage.

He's no big deal.

But . . . with a name like that, Jerra could be impressed.

Hes garbage anyway. Hes slow, has awful route running skills and could get covered by linebackers in the NFL.

Its just because he's a longhorn. If he played for USC you wouldn't hear any Cowboys fans want him taken 22nd overall. But because he wears the fallopian tube shaped mammal head on his helmet he HAS to be a great player. WAKE UP PEOPLE, Texas hasn't been good since VY left. Well, the fact that Colt McCoy is the QB is a big part, that kid blows.

If the Cowboys were to draft a Horn this year, I'd rather it be Charles in the second or third. I think he'd be a nice complement to Barber.

Wasn't he a tight end in the Wing T in high school?
