It’s about what a team is willing to pay you when you’re a free agent. He may not be worth that to the team that has Chris Jones. Teams that need a quality d lineman for next season may be willing to pay what it takes to sign him.

We are losing a starting CB, starting safety, starting guard, our best RB
You aren’t filling all those holes from the draft or existing players. Some you may but not all
So you have to sign some other players, it’s not really an option.
I’d love to have him and there is a way you could sign him, a WR and keep pollard but many wouldn’t like that because it would require cuts as well as extending Dak to cover it. You can do almost anything but is it worth the costs

Why would the Commanders NOT franchise tag Payne? Do they have someone else that deserves the tag? They don't have a 49 million dollar QB and they don't have a 17 million dollar RB.

How much would you pay him? He’d make our defense the best in the league. I wouldn’t over pay though, we still need to resign parsons. He’s thst good that I’d sign him even if it meant losing Diggs.
