The most likely which isn’t on the list is return of McCarthy.
Don't waste your energy fellow friends and foes MM will be back with the gang as he is the perfect YES man for good old Jerry.Just a following up post from yesterday's Zimmer possibility for the Cowboys HC Job. Here are the top candidates for next year:
(Taken by CBS Sports)
1) Ben Johnson Lions OC
2) Vrabel Former Titan HC
3) Flores Viking DC
4) Glenn Lions DC
5) Brady Bills OC
6) Kinksbury Commanders OC
7) Joseph Broncos DC
8) Slowik Texans OC
9) Cohen Tampa OC
10) Minter Chargers DC
11) Moore Eagles OC
Who is favorites top choice or choices? Vrabel, Flores or Johnson, Slowik for me.
It’s interesting that the national guys are backing a MM extension. I like Flores myself. He is a complete “Richard” and we need that to overcome the “Cowboy” crap that has been here since Parcells left.Just a following up post from yesterday's Zimmer possibility for the Cowboys HC Job. They would have to extend MM. Jerry is not going to pay him another dime. The most likely which isn’t on the list is return of McCarthy.
Isn’t Kingsbury a big RPO guy? If so, I am not sure he is the right coordinator for the guy we have playing QB. Dak isn’t really a big run threat especially with the injuries starting mount. Also, were his offenses really that great in Arizona? He has been catching a lot of flack in DC recently because the Commanders’ offense has been struggling in recent weeks. I just don’t get excited about this guy being our next HC. I’m not sure why Arizona thought he was a good hire as a HC when he really wasn’t that good of a HC at Texas Tech. He spent 6 years as the HC of Texas Tech and only had 2 winning seasons. A year where he went 8-5 and another where he went 7-6. Guy was 35-40 at Tech. Then he coached for the Arizona Cardinals and only had 1 winning year in the 4 years he coached there. His overall record was 28-37-1. Guy has a total of 10 years head coaching experience with only 3 winning seasons.I actually think if they move on from Mike that it’s going to be Kliff. Here is the list of reasons.
NFL HC experience
Offensive coach
Will let them pick coaches like DC
From TX
Has experience working with QB’s and making them better.
Has some success as a HC in the NFL
He checks all the boxes for everything they like in a HC. They’re not going to go with anyone without experience as a HC. I would be shocked if they did.
While I can appreciate posts like this, I am really struggling to get excited about a possible new HC knowing that it won't really change anything.
Are you serious? Guy almost ruined Herbert.Well, they got a new HC.
KMooreI believe we need an offensive minded head coach but the best candidates in this class are all defensive minded guys…Flores would make this defense and team less soft. Jerry would never do it. Texans and Lions OC should be our top two candidates.
Kliff Kingsbury is probably more realistic then it should be.
He got hurt. Are you serious? Guy almost ruined Herbert.
Come on man. You watched those offenses. The red zone crap. The run game being tossed. His performance against good defenses. He was terrible. Went to LA and almost ruined one of the most talented QBs in the game. Moore has an All Pro team in Philly to work with. Studs at every position.Didn’t he have the #1 offense with Dallas?
2024-25 is a soft rebuild.I had been holding out hope we'd see a shift in philosophies after this disaster of a season. Unfortunately after listening to SJ commenting on the cap and off season I can see hes setting it up to continue down the same path of failure.
I don't understand what their end game is. They have to be aware the team is going to only get worse if they continue to hemorrhage players and bring in 1 year deals.
I know this isn't directly related to coaching, but with all the evidence our system is working you'd expect a change. If they won't change in that area I have absolutely no reason to believe they'll suddenly bring in a new coach and give him autonomy.
I wish the kool-aid drinkers would get on board and stop defending this moron and throwing money at him, because that is clearly the only way he changes.
We should try an offseason of continuity for a change. The most likely which isn’t on the list is return of McCarthy.
