List of HC Candidates for the 2025 Cycle

If our dysfunctional ownership can disappoint fans by bringing Prescott back I wouldn’t totally discount him bringing back MM.

You think his decision hinged on what Jerry was doing? I doubt it. This team is a complete mess and then you have the 2 morons to deal with on top of it. My guess is he wanted nothing to do with having Jerry and junior in his ear all year round.
Cool story.

I don't know what's so funny about that. He has repeatedly said he isn't leaving.
Who's being naive, Kay?

The day he is offered the head coaching position with the Dallas Cowboys is the day he leaves the University of ~checks notes~. . Colorado.

Just a following up post from yesterday's Zimmer possibility for the Cowboys HC Job. Here are the top candidates for next year:

(Taken by CBS Sports)

1) Ben Johnson Lions OC
2) Vrabel Former Titan HC
3) Flores Viking DC
4) Glenn Lions DC
5) Brady Bills OC
6) Kinksbury Commanders OC
7) Joseph Broncos DC
8) Slowik Texans OC
9) Cohen Tampa OC
10) Minter Chargers DC
11) Moore Eagles OC

Who is favorites top choice or choices? Vrabel, Flores or Johnson, Slowik for me.
Any HC or future HC worth a grain of salt should be a hard NO, if JJ comes a knocking. Who in their right mind regardless of the money would want to take directions from Jerry Jones and his tards for sons, it would be a recipe for disaster!

Name one coach who turned down an offer to head coach the Dallas Cowboys. The only one I can think of wasn't for head coach but Dan Reeves in an assistant role 15 years ago over an hours worked clause.

I realize everyone's emotional women right now but this notion that nobody wants to coach here is not and has never been true. It's just frustrated fan talk.

You Forgot #12 Mike McCarthy..:muttley::lmao:

Certainly didn’t look like it after Prescott went down. But these last few games this team hasn’t given up. And the support for McCarthy has grown.

Will it be enough for a 1 or 2 year extension. Who knows . It might rest more on whether he wants to return or test the waters out there .

But my hunch , at least based on what we’ve been hearing, is Jethro & Son are looking for a way to bring him back.
So you think Jerry is going to pay MM more money then he has paid him then his last contract after three of the most embarrassing playoff losses in Cowboys history. You could argue MM has been just mediocre as the Cowboys never got out of the divisional round while our rivals have been to the Super Bowl since Mike has been the Cowboys coach. I don’t know if you noticed but non of the Cowboys true insiders think he is coming back.

Yeah as annoying as the Jones gang can be with their I have not seen a microphone I don’t like mantra, the coaches have more power then fans realize. You don’t have to worry about a GM stabbing you in the back, Jerry will complain about you but will back you until your contract runs out.

Look at the hires after Johnson, besides Parcells there hasn't exactly been stellar choices. To pretend that consequences can't possibly change after 30 years of sheer lunacy from ownership that micro manages every move definitely seems naive at this point.

List of potential GM's ?
:muttley:

Wild card for at least an interview who isn't on that list:

Wes Phillips. That's right, Uncle Wade's boy. Pretty highly regarded young guy, was with McVay in the day, now OC under O'Connell in Minny where they're having an unexpectedly good year and have revived Sam Darnold, and was already here under Wade and Garrett so he has Jones Family familiarity.

I'd still bet on Kellen though. He and Dak are BFFs and that's huge to Jerry.
Have thought about this as well. He coached here too, iirc.

But would the son of Wade work for Jerry? Wade was pretty sour after his firing. Of course, if it's your only shot as HC, maybe you take it and don't take on your father's grievances.

Edit: he worked here after Wade left, so I guess he doesn't care.

I noticed when Jerry first was asked a few weeks ago about firing Mike in-season, he actually said he regretted firing Wade when he did and pointed out how many people around the league told him Wade's defense basically won that Super Bowl for Denver. That really surprised me, especially considering it was his boy Garrett who took over.
