I honestly think is Jason to either GM or something similar.......

Imagine a meeting of the leagues GM and guess who's the oldest sitting in the room.....by 40-50years? (lol). Remember the HC and GM are supposed to joint at the hips. I'm just not sure Jerry has that kind of energy left at nearly 80 years old. This is where Jason would come in.

Scratch number 2 off the list. The notion that Garrett would turn down ANY offer from Jerry, when he knows he has no business near a sideline, is ludicrous.

5. Jerry and Stephen are scared Garrett will leave and go to the Giants.

If garrett goes to NYC and he is terrible ., That will prove that jerry's experiment was the worst decade long decision an NFL gm did in the history of the NFL .

Jerry knows garrett is garbage, and wants to make garrett stay so this isn't proved elsewhere.

Garrett has a winning record after ten years in the HC job and there are already stories about the Giants wanting to hire him, but you can continue yelling at your television.

I thought the Ball family were the bunch of publicity drama Queens of this era. I was wrong. No one can keep up with the Jones. The Ball family looks meek compared to Jerry's BS! I mean what good is a third meeting? Jerry has had 10 years to know what Garrett is. A .500 coach half the time. It makes no sense what is going on down in the Star. I'm starting to believe the rumor that Garrett has compromising pictures of Jones. Maybe the negotiations have nothing to do with football.

Most here are frustrated with the happenings around the Star this week, infact its a flat out clown show, but here is a list of the possible reasons this saga continues.

1. Stephen and Jerry are at odds on what to do with Jason
2. They're offering Jason a chance to stay as HC, but Jason isn't agreeing to the contract terms. ie...years and salary.
3. They're offering Jason a chance to stay as HC, but Jason isn't agreeing to the assistants the Jones' idiots want to bring.
4. They are trying to find a position within the organization that both sides can agree too.
5. Jerry and Stephen are scared Garrett will leave and go to the Giants.
6. All 3 (Jerry, Stephen, and Jason) have no idea what they are doing.

what say you?
or is there some other realistic scenario that's playing out?

Garrett is NOT making any demands.

#1 is highly likely. Stephen is going to stand on his head to prevent Garrett from getting another contract.

Stephen might be OK giving Garrett a 1 year contract IF (Big IF) they can't get the new HC that he wanted to hire).

#5 (Giants hiring Garrett) is likely in Jerry's mind but I don't think that is a big factor.

I'll be so disappointed if it turns out that they haven't even started the search for Jason's replacement yet. I know I'm a gullible Cowboys homer, but I really do think they have it all pretty much worked out already.

Baylor is playing today...Rhule likely would not interview before the game.

Last year Kris Richard interviewed for an HC position AFTER the wildcard game. Are the Cowboys interested in a coach that is with a team playing in the wildcard round?

The fact that they are even having issues is insane to me. 3 words: You. Are. Fired.

There shouldn’t even be a damn “saga” going on.

They don't need to fire him.

They don't have to cut players that will be free agents...

I bet the Giants aren't even interested in Garrett ., It's a bluff so that Jerry signs garrett's extension .

JG's record speaks for itself , not even the Giants want that garbage .

But again... IF by some miracle he gets signed, that will expose jerry to the fullest .

Booger is Scarlett O'Hara, "I'll worry about that tomorrow". His comment that he had to give the Garrett situation some thought was either moronic or just a stall. What else has the GM had to think about? He didn't extend him last season for a reason.

Just when you think these people can't get worse, they do. Proof they're bulletproof that they can look like this to the fans and media.

I do wonder if they're thinking or some kind or reorganization of the FO? Booger to Chairman, Son to President and Garrett to GM and let McClay go? They could give the appearance of change and keep things the same. Booger would still call the shots.

It’s a combination of many things. I believe Jerry is using until the 14th to try and convince Garrett to accept some type of role other than coaching. He may also have it in mind to hope the Giants hire a coach within that timeframe to make sure Garrett doesn’t get that job. There is also the fact that there are more quality options out there this year than there are openings so he is not in a big hurry. He wants to strike some sort of deal with Garrett to keep him a Cowboy, just not the coach. I also believe they have 2-3 names in mind and have likely had initial conversations with their reps and are assured they will have the chance to interview them in the coming weeks. I don’t think they fear losing out on all their top choices by letting the Garrett situation play out. I actually believe when everything is said and done, we as fans will be extremely pleased with the final results. Jerry has an incredible opportunity in front of him and I think he will surprise us. The team has some young talent, and plenty of cap space to work with. What it lacks is a true football mind and leader of men as the head coach. I believe Jerry will give us that very soon. He just needs the time to come to grips with having to let Garrett go. He envisioned Garrett still being the coach of the Dallas Cowboys on the day he passes so this is a big letdown for him. It will work itself out.

Lol...oh, silly Kaiser, you can believe the fairytales about Garrett being in demand if you wish. And why would I be yelling at the television right now? I see you're starting the new year in typical cringeworthy form.
