Its been three days and two of them have been holidays. It took two days to fire Chan Gailey and this situation is ten times more complicated.

But everyone can continue freaking out.
Complicated? It's only complicated if you make it that way.
Jason Garrett isn't an owner, he's a poor coach who can't win important games.
This is so easy it's unbelievable it hasn't happened.

Garrett has a winning record after ten years in the HC job and there are already stories about the Giants wanting to hire him, but you can continue yelling at your television.
A better coach, with everything Garrett had, would have made more playoffs appearances, would have a better record, would have went further in the postseason and might have won a super bowl or two.
He has underachieved with all the tools given to him.
He's a laughing stock.

I’m not ready to believe in Jerry that much.

It's complicated to a select few special individuals here.

The Giants are trying to make a decision between 1 or 2 first round picks to be able to get Garrett right now so he can start 2 weeks early

I'm leaning towards what ole skip ha had to say about it... JJ wants the attention! Look at it the way skip stated it, boys are out of contention, so there is no reason to even be discussing this under achieving bunch of turds. So, JJ in his wisdom enacts a week long decision making process that in reality, shouldn't have taken more then 5 mins after the game on Sunday. THIS keeps all the media talking about this team....sounds reasonable to me.

In a normal organization McClay would have been fired along with Garrett, but we don't have that luxury around here.

McClay is the Vice President of Player personal. McClay did not hire Garrett or has anything to do with his position on this team. I have never seen an instance where both the coach and the VP of player personal were fired as a tandem.

jerry is simply overwhelmed with conflict. he knows garrett has to go. but if he dismisses him, he will have admitted the 10 year experiment ended in failure and jerry is not prone to ever admit to a mistake. the way he's handling the garrett situation is ridiculous. and also sad. jerry has made it clear that hard work and loyalty are his cornerstone preferences in his hires. competence, not so much.

Its the effect of Twitter on society. Garrett has been HC for ten years and his relationship with Jerry as a player and coach goes back 25 years. And fans here think all that ends in 120 characters or less.
Well, looking back on JJ's process for firing coaches, it took a lot less then 120 characters as you say to fire Tom Landry AND Jimmy Johnson...this butter cup HC isn't even in the same leaguew as those 2 I mentioned, and yet......the wait continues.

The most probable scenario is they have already told Jason that he is fired, and they have already hired urban Meyer.

7. The next HC is still coaching in the playoffs and even though a handshake deal has been in place for weeks, neither side can talk about it.
And which coach is that or if you are sworn to secrecy which team is he on? Anything is possible certainly would not be a current HC of any team in the playoffs.

The reaction this week from a lot of fans and media has astounded me. I can't recall anything like it. Not only are they entitled to a firing, they are entitled to getting it exactly when they want it.

Garrett needs to go, and I am reasonably certain he will. I am also reasonably certain Jones already knows who he will hire.

I don't need blood to be able to survive a few days.

This is an overreaction by the media and fans. Jones is giving JG the time he normally has to conduct exit interviews etc. I don't see why there's panic until after his contract expires. The more information the staff can gather the better.

all that can still take place, they can announce he will not be retained and will be gone on the 14th.

Garrett has chained himself to Jerry's personal commode and is crying hysterically that he is the rightful heir to the "throne".
