List of top 2nd round prospects still available according to Ourlads

....I don't care if Huff AND Nnamdi both come. We STILL should draft a CB. God knows what's gotten into Jenkins and Newman is wearing down.

I think Jenkins will bounce back, not having much of a pass rush besides Ware and 2 useless safeties didn't him him any favors last season

I like Paea, Mike Williams (as a FS), Bowers(raw talent but Nickel pass usher at very worst) or a trade down. Lots of interior OL that interest me on the board.

I'd like to get Aaron Williams, Harris or Moore (as a safety purpose) as we definitely need a young corner as Newman isn't getting younger and he could possibly get released (doubt it, though).

And randy932, I don't think picking Dalton in the second round would be smart, as I feel like the 'Boys could draft one down in the later rounds like a Pat Devlin or something like that, or if he falls (which is unlikely), Ricky Stanzi. Dalton might get picked by the Bengals or Arizona picking him before us anyway.

Should be a interesting day tomorrow, that's for sure as I'm curious to see who the 'Boys pick.

I feel that we need to get Romo's eventual replacement on board and learning. I have watched Dalton play several games in person and he is going to be a very good QB. However, I doubt that Jerry will spend the pick on QB until it is past the time that we need one. Hopefully Garret will lead him to a smarter decision. The smart decision, in my opinion, is to get Dalton. Like you say, he very well may be gone. by #40. In that case, let's get Paea at NT, move Rat to DE.

Dalton? lmao we have Romo.

Let's lock down the D in big D.

Exactly why we should get Dalton. Romo is 31, surpassing his IQ.

Or we could wait for a year when there is good QB's.

Don't see anything too crazy to be wasting a 2nd round pick on him right now. There will be more years to do this.

Give me one of the DB's (Williams, Harris, Moore) or the big DL Kendrick Ellis.

If Paea somehow doesn't get picked, i could see him as a target at 40.

I don't see it, he is a little small to play the nose. Better fit in a 4-3.

IRVING, Texas - After having to wait nearly four months for their first-round selection, the buildup to the Cowboys second pick will not be so drawn out.

The team owns the eighth pick (No. 40 overall) in Round 2 of the draft, which begins Friday at 5 p.m. (CT). The third round will follow Friday night, with the remainder of the seven-round draft wrapping up on Saturday.

After selecting offensive lineman Tyron Smith with their first pick, the Cowboys still have a number of needs to address. Despite his club allowing the second-most points in the league last year, owner and general manager Jerry Jones wouldn't say Friday's picks were necessarily reserved for adding defensive talent. Still, that is where the most holes are, he admits.

"We certainly have needs at defensive line, linebacker and corner and safety," Jones said. "So they're there. I wouldn't dismiss if we see an opportunity at running back."...

I'm willing to predict that there is a

possibility that Jerry Jones will not select Dalton.

Now, I would be most appreciative if someone can find and post the appropriate Jim Carrey pic.

Letting the Draft Come to You

Jerry 3.0, the Garrett edition, seems more sedate. Take advantage of your positions high in rounds and let the draft come to you. The Cowboys teased moves down, stayed at 9 and took Tyron Smith.

Tomorrow, they pick 8th in the round, 40th overall.

They have some big players still available, including, on defense:

CBs Brandon Harris and Aaron Williams
FS Rahim Moore
LBs Akeem Ayers, Martez Wilson and Mason Foster
DL Kenrick Ellis and Marvin Austin

On offense, the Cowboys can consider:

TE Kyle Rudolph
WR Titus Young
OL Ben Ijalana and Stefan Wisniewski
QB Andy Dalton
