There's gonna be some talent when we get on the board...another trade down?

At 40 I think we just may trade down around 5 to 10 spots.

Paea looks amazing on tape.

He doesn't have ideal size for a 3-4 but a player like him could probably make it in any system.

He is the best big DL left imho. I have a hard time saying he couldn't play NT or 3-4 DE or a little of both here.

He weighs in at 295 pounds and is string as an ox. He isn't as explosive off the ball as Ratliff but carries a bit more weight. Having 3 guys in that 285-295 range along the front on a 3-4 isn't all bad. While a 330 pound guy would be nice versatility is a good way to keep guys form being attacked. The Ryan's have always liked movement and games up front (ok, all over) and these sub 300 pounders can do lots of things including zone cover.

I would take him, he is a hardnosed workman, he could help stabilize our D.

Trading down still scares me after the disaster that was the 09 draft. I hope we just stay put at 40 and draft best DL or DB available and if anything move back up to the late 2nd and grab a OG if a big rush on interior lineman start

If his knee injury is cleared I would be all for it.

I wish I knew how bad Bowers Knee was. It's supposedly degenerative but some say it's not as bad as it's been made out to be. Since 32 teams passed on him, and I have to believe it's based on the knee, i would be leery about taking him.

But if he somehow fell to the later half of the round, I would consider trading my 3rd rounder and another pick to move back up to get him.

Cajun, I was thinking the same regarding his knee. Bowers being available intrigues me. If the doctors, trainers and Rob Ryan can convince Jerry that Bowers will be ok.......I would love Dallas picking him in the 2nd.

He will definitely have a chip on his shoulder and IF the knee isn't as bad as initially thought, he would be a steal and a terror next to DWare and Rat. IF the knee is ok I would trade up from 40 to grab him.

Can Bowers play the 5 technique though? And will he want to?

This is a guy who had 15.5 sacks last year.. is he gonna be ok with going from Mr. Sack Artist and making highlight plays to becoming a guy who's primary job is to stop the run?

He'd be an animal in nickel packages but our 2nd rounder can't be a "part-time" player.

I worry about him much like I worried about that dude we got from TCU who had the same problem with his knee. It was in the ST's draft. He never made it to the field.

He would still be expected to rush the passer. 3-4 might make it more difficult but they don't have to be just run pluggers.

I don't think motivation is a problem for Bowers. I haven't heard anything bad about work ethic or desire.

All I have heard about was his knee. I have seen a few mock drafts where they had projected him a top 5 talent.

If he has that kind of talent then he has the physical gifts to do what needs to be done.

I wouldn't worry too much about that.

If he was a middle of the road guy, someone who was just average, I would totally agree with you. Sometimes you do have to take a gamble in order to get a big payoff.

I'm willing to predict that there is a

99.9999999999999999999999999999999999%

possibility that Jerry Jones will not select Dalton.

Now, I would be most appreciative if someone can find and post the appropriate Jim Carrey pic.

So there is a chance?

Why are some so sure the Cowboys will sign Huff? If I'm Jerry, I take either Moore or Bowers, if eithr still there. We also need a good young OG & another good young ILB.
