Sorry, I was just trying to inject some humor.

I do have to say most of Barber's positive production came as a closer, when teams were "softened up". Once he became the starter, his days were numbered.

Yep, like the second quarter of the play-off game with the Giants when he carried the ball the entire quarter.

Murray is a still a legit back. He always showed greatness. Getting injured and banging people was his issue.

Let it be someone else. That's destined to be a bad contract.

I think Murray could be resigned to a Sean Lee type of contract (not the same numbers, but same general premise) with playing time incentives and performance incentives.

Please prove this. Or have you forgotten Julius Jones and the cast of thousands after Emmitt?

Prove anyone can run behind this line.

People here are always so quick to assume things are solved.

Exactly... I just love how the detractors continue to push veiled criticism of Demarco Murray. The guy is special and he finally has a line in front of him that helps everyone understand and appreciate his talent. A running back needs a line in order to be successful but that same running back has to also have the vision, elusiveness, and toughness to get north south regularly. You can't just plug anyone in and expect to have the low stress outcome that we had last week vs Tennessee. Give the guy some credit...

I agree.

I like Murray.

But it can't play out like it did with MBIII or Julius Jones or Felix Jones.

You have to pay for past performance..

which is fair for last year and possibly this season if all goes well.

But before you overpay going into the future..

..I'd wait.

I still wouldn't be interested. You only resign the special backs. He's not special. He's just running behind a very good OL right now.

Everyone acts like this is the first time Murray has ever looked good. Didn't he have like 256 yards in a game running behind costa holland and an aging kosier?

I like a 2 year extension just not a crazy one. He runs hard but doesn't have bell cow carries to his body since till now we never ran

Can we put Ryan Williams behind it? :)

Why are you guys scared to spend Jerry's money? When has money ever stopped us from signing our own players? You know what saving money does? It allows for you to overpay for overrated free agents. If you have a elite talent you pay him.

Using this logic....Cowboys should've gotten rid of Emmitt Smith long before they did. Sherman Williams sure lit it up when he had the chance.

This....

Murray doesn't have the miles on him because up until recently we have been a very pass happy offense...

is when you can make Joseph Randle look really good. Everyone needs to relax on how great Murray/Randle look and lets sign them up for next 15 years. The truth is that anyone can run behind this line right now. Dallas should keep their money in their pocket at RB and take one in first three rounds of draft.

No. The Litmus test is when teams know you're going to run, and can't do a damn thing to stop you (ala our end of the 4th Q against the Titans). A few years ago, Marty Schottenheimer told JJ that back in the 90's every team in the league knew when Dallas was going to run the ball. But, our personnel, and execution, were so good no one could stop us. That's when you know you're good, and it's great to see we're starting to regain that identity.

I'm also interested to see if the production continues when teams start game planning us to run 45 times a game instead of passing 45 times a game.

Murray is better than average. I think that it is just now that the results of his talents are being fully utilized. Before now our offensive line was a lot more suspect, AND they didn't feed him the rock often enough. When they did feed him the ball he produced.

Randle has improved. Our OL has been dominate in the run game the last 10-12 games tho. I would extend Murray .The key is negotiations. Don't offer the moon. Start low.

If he continues at this rate, he will get franchised and I am perfectly good with that. Sign Dez. Franchise DeMarco. Chop the rest up like Jerry usually does with his mulah.

Threads like this remind why I hate the salary cap. Everyone is concerned about cap space and not the talent.
