I won't continue to argue or debate this with you because it seems your one of those guys who will defend every single little part of our team, and who's mind is made up .It amazes me that anyone can defend this OL in anyway. How it's been built, how long they've been horrible..How they've been piecing it together and ignoring it for almost TWO DECADES should be evidence enough that there is nothing close to being good about it. Every single person who talks about the Cowboys or the NFL for a profession or career says this is the weakest link on our team. Even though I don't agree with 75% of them on most things, you can't argue with 100% of them. Look, you and I want the same thing. For our Cowboys to get better, be more competitive, and go far in the NFL Playoffs. I feel we have everything we need to get that done with the exception of 3 starters and 3 backups on the offensive line.

And you seem like the type who will panic even if we had spent the last five first round picks on the OLine. So you are right, this conversation is not worth having

I'm really irritated to be going through this same OG nonsense again in camp this year. I can't believe we sign two VFA OGs and can't get either of them into training camp either of the first two seasons after we've signed them. So annoying.

This.

This more then anything really pisses me off about many of our decisions this off season. You lay out all the money for Tony, which you can debate one way or the other, but the thing you really can't debate is that if you are going to lay out that money, then how can you not address the OL so that at a minimum, you have guys who can at least be on the field for you. Drives me crazy.

Two decades?

How much money did they give BIGG to sign here?

And Marco Rivera?

And the tackle Parcells brought in from the Jets who flamed out?

Not too mention 2 1st round draft picks in 3 years.

They may not be good at picking OL talent. They may have signed the wrong free agents. But to out-right claim they've ignored the unit is lunacy.

Good stuff. The Livings bit makes perfect sense. I don't like it, but it makes sense. The good part is the Leary stuff, assuming it's true.

It'll be interesting to see if anything happens with Hangartner. This is one where I'd rather see the team move sooner and cover their bases. We're getting to a point, though, where how many OLs we expect to keep on the final roster comes into play. If we're expecting to go 10 deep with 4 OTs, Hangartner'd have to push Arkin, Killer, or Bernadeau off the roster. They might want to see Arkin play this week before deciding what they want to do with the competition at OG (beyond having enough decent bodies for camp evaluations, obviously).

Denver needs a center. Hangartner's ex-head coach is now HC of the Broncos.

Nope, because if we had, we might have one of the top teams in the NFL

Good point. If I were Romo I would have demanded we address the Oline in a big way...wait a minute.. nevermind.. if they were throwing that kind of money at me I wouldn't care.

Well, one of them shouldn't have been a 1st round draft pick and the other has been an average player.. not what we expected at all.

Yeah, you're the judge of who should be a first round pick.

Gotcha.

Well continue having yourself a good moan.

Per RotoWorld he graded out in the lower five percent of all centers last year.

I am not happy that Livings is hurt, but now Leary is going to get his shot. I believe he is the answer and am betting on Kowalski or Arkin for the other side. But if Leary's knee problem doesn't manifest itself, he will be one of the pieces we have been waiting on.

We still have some options and hopefully Killer and Mack won't be out too much longer.

I have very little faith that Livings is going to be a useful player this year and I thought his injury in TC basically proved his knees were shot long-term. I actually think it was a mistake to invite him to TC and that he should have been waived as soon as he was healthy enough to practice again. Hopefully he rehabs and then is released with an injury settlement of some kind so we can move on. I'd rather give the last spot to a PS player from some other team than give it to Livings.

We still do have the option of moving Costa back to Center and bumping TFred out to OG if Leary is the only OG we think is capable to giving quality play as a first-teamer. Alternatively, we can play with Leary and Arkin if both look good in the preseason as it looks like they are going to get a good number of reps given how depleted we are on the interior.

Livings and Berandeau signings must the worst of the franchise, neither can play well and are often injured.

I questioned this last year. I wanted Grubbs. He would have done a solid job here. Hopefully Leary can solve the issue.

The team didn't like Grubbs because he wasn't a good match for the blocking scheme they wanted to implement... Not too mention he was very costly.
