Fan nonsense.

Anything but nonsense. Waiting a few more games would be prudent, but if he continues playing this way it makes all the sense in the world to extend him early and save money. Just because we have a differing of opinion does not make it nonsense.

Mo's dilemma would be does he bet on himself. He stays healthy all 16 games and plays the way he is now, someone will pay him more than the Cowboys probably would. CB's get paid in FA.

what is "nonsense" to most is that mo has spent the vast majority of his career not living up to the potential of his draft. we've all heard him come into camp saying THIS TIME I'M READY only to see a repeat performance of the year before.

so yes, it's nonsense to most who feel that he needs to do more than string a few good games together.

Jumping to a conclusion after two games to the point where you want to work a new deal "now!" is complete and total fan nonsense.

You are just repeating yourself. And I will as well. Just because we have a difference of opinion doesn't make it nonsense. Your opinion isn't any more important than mine. You are just a fan too, quit acting like you are more than that. And as I also already stated, waiting a few more games would be prudent, but if he keeps this up it makes all kinds of sense to extend him on the cheap if he is willing.

Health is good and got all the preseason reps.

He's a "learn by doing" guy. And it's paying off.

Let's see how he does over 16 games before we open up the checkbook, though.

That is a very expensive gamble to make.
iId lock him up if the price was right but it is all about money (especially guaranteed where I'd really balk).

Mo is our best outside the hashes cover guy right now and may even be when Scandrick is back.
I think it clear Carr is gone after the season replaced by Jones outside.

But for this defense to remain top notch you need Mo or a reasonable facsimile of him and that's really costly.

End of the day you gave up pick 6 and it hasn't paid off yet but I would consider why you used such a high pick before letting him walk to someone else int he prime of his career. In a way I compare Mo with Dez. A supremely talented guy who took a while to gather the full playbook then to learn the nuances of the league. One of the hardest things for elite athletes is facing other elite athletes and having to rely on technique to win, not just instinct.

If I could get Mo locked up on a tiered deal where he made about 5m guaranteed only I'd do it.
But you better move fast if that is the hope because every game he gets more expensive.
By year's end he may well cost more than Carr did.

If you wait he is Jermey Parnell. Someone else overpays or he plays so poorly you didn't really want him.
Very hard to see the level of performance for 16 games that keeps him affordable but also desired here.

The team has relied upon him at 60% health previously which tells you how hard he is to actually replace.
But like with Murray you can't give everyone star money.
I would be tossing out feelers right now for sure.
It costs nothing to talk. Waiting could cost you 10's of millions.

Often it takes young players time to figure things out. Looks like he has to me and many others... Not to mention he hasn't been healthy and had too much work in the preseason before this year.

I'd wait and see how he plays against Brees, Ryan, and Brady. Falcons and Saints may not be dominating teams, but they have QBs that are capable of making CBs look silly.

i must have missed the mad rush to sign mo after 2 games and the plethora of people who think he's finally come around.

i won't disagree it takes some longer to turn it around, but if it took him what, this many years don't you think 2 games is kinda like declaring an alcoholic clean and sober after 2 weeks of great non-drinking? or before signing said alkie to a long term contract, would you like to see more of the desired behavior before lobbing money at a past huge risk?

You keep going back to the same silly point of two games. Did you not read any of my other posts? I guess it's just easier to hone in on that for your argument. And yes, there are others that share a similar opinion as mine, but you must be missing that too. How's about we just agree to disagree, like I thought we had amicably a couple of pages ago...

So you admit you are only focusing on the headline and read no other posts. Then I won't bother wasting any more time reading yours. As was mentioned a few pages back, good day sir!

Not for nothing, but he got smoked by Cooper in the endzone on the Sean Lee INT.

Future their was a play where the ball went passed Mo's out stretched hands and Cooper just flat out dropped it, I said to myself Thank G Cooper isn't a sure hand recover lol

Yes, now you're saying wait a few more games. In a thread you titled now. That would be slightly less asinine but still pretty out there.

It would make no sense whatsoever to even think about an extension right now or two weeks from now. This is the kind of thing that gives fans a bad name.
