He will be 30 before the start of the 2026 season.
- Speed is a question mark at this point.
- Salary for 2026 is 6M.

Other options:
Quay Walker not tendered 5th year option by GB because they don't want to pay him 14M per.
- He has missed the past 2 games with a injury issue "stinger".
- Age 25

Quincy Williams will be 30 before next season.

In pencil, depending on if they use a high pick at the position. Could very well see Quincy join his brother for the short-term

I prefer a free agent and use the 1st round picks the positions that are more expensive in free agency.
- Also don't want to depend on a rookie MLB.
- I like rookie edge because they are in a rotation which gives them more time to learn as they go during the season.

Quincy Williams is a smallish, soon to be 30 year old LB. Is that any better than Logan Wilson?

If Quay Walker does not get re-signed before free agency starts, I would over-pay to get him.

I'd like to see to the Cowboys move away from Logan and get a younger, hungrier LB in FA with that money or preferably just draft a guy.
The best free agent off-ball LB will likely get 14M per or less.

A free agent edge like Trey Hendrickson will get 30M+. He would get more if he was younger.

I say draft the edge player and sign the best free agent LB.

Keep Logan, but they need to draft a guy who can compete for his spot.
6m for a guy who in three games has barely shown up?

Pretty pricey just for Jerry to be able to say “look what I did”

That's fair, but the Cowboys can have both. I don't see anything wrong with drafting a DE then a MLB.

Yeah, I've been thinking about this. I've seen it said by people who have watched him his whole career that he's clearly lost a step or two already. I can see that he's not fast enough to keep up with some Tight Ends and next year he's bound to be slower. Need to draft a Mike in the first few rounds if a good one is there.

This is what I don't want to see us do, create unnecessary holes that we have to fill. Because A) we will fill it with cheaper more questionable players or B) we will wedge ourselves into having to use a draft pick on a specific position. Keep what we've got and upgrade through the draft. If players are free agents and leave for greener pastures, then and only then use our method of FA to fill the spot and look to upgrade in the draft.

This front office has shown that it is not going to pay a premium for FAs so anyone expecting that is fooling themselves for the umpteenth time.
