Logan Wilson: Starting MLB in 2026?

The surgery isn’t a huge deal but his age and the fact he’s probably not an every down player soon will effect his contract
It might affect his contract a little but that benefits the Cowboys right if he's A free agent he chooses where he goes maybe he takes less to be with that new defensive line you know what I mean like he'll take less to be where he feels he can win I don't know if that's the Cowboys but I believe it might be...

Still don't think it's gonna affect his play though it's not a huge deal and it only benefits a team that gets him if he has to take less given they can use that at the negotiating table...

Agree. I could see him wanting a shot at a ring. If we can keep this roster together and draft well we could be in great shape next year. A guy like him replacing say Fowler could be really nice. He’s getting up there do a rotation extends his career

Who needs hernia surgery?
Trey Hendrickson. He needs surgery either after the season or now.

Hendrickson has also missed the last five games with a hip/pelvis injury. he’s listed as week to week.

Thread kinda got a second thing going talking about him.

Wilsons first significant injury was a torn labrum in his shoulder in 2022. He had a good recovery and played well in 2023.

He had knee surgery in 2024 and went on IR. He missed the last six games of last season.

Even before the injury in 2024, he was showing signs of decline and this year he has struggled to regain his previous form, having his worst season as a pro.

He will be 30 before the start of the 2026 season.
- Speed is a question mark at this point.
- Salary for 2026 is 6M.

Other options:
Quay Walker not tendered 5th year option by GB because they don't want to pay him 14M per.
- He has missed the past 2 games with a injury issue "stinger".
- Age 25

Quincy Williams will be 30 before next season.

Seems like we will be drafting one in the 1st round.

agreed

Priority #1 in the draft is a MLB. Whoever is the highest-rated MLB when they get to pick in round 1 has to be the pick. Can't wait until the 4th round, hoping for someone to fall.
Absolutely! A Field General who can get everyone on the same page, jump crossing routes and evade blockers is what any good defense needs! Take the first good one you see on the board!

No. He was benched for a reason. He lacks speed and quickness. Better than what was previously there? Maybe just on reaction and football iq. But Dallas should look to upgrade there.
Agreed. They have an entire off-season to adequately upgrade the position. Wilson is only an upgrade at the moment due to the Cowboys having some of the worst LB play in history this season.

I prefer a free agent and use the 1st round picks the positions that are more expensive in free agency.
- Also don't want to depend on a rookie MLB.
- I like rookie edge because they are in a rotation which gives them more time to learn as they go during the season.

Quincy Williams is a smallish, soon to be 30 year old LB. Is that any better than Logan Wilson?

If Quay Walker does not get re-signed before free agency starts, I would over-pay to get him.
Are there bigger position deficits elsewhere

Thinking he will be a post 1 June cut. He's owed no money and would free up 6.5 mill.

id bring him back at a cheaper deal if he would do it.
