It shouldn't be bad without TO. He's supposed to be a difference maker and impact player but he can't make Dallas a playoff winner all by himself.

If Red cannot make the team go with RWR and the rest without TO then he shouldn't be the OC.

I'd so love for Shannahan to be here.

Shanarat would bring out the Romo and TO we all know exist. The thought of Garrett and Wade back in the saddle again is depressing.

Crayton is a good route runner. But he wasn't able to get many balls because Roy Williams moved into his spot.

Also, I believe if T.O. leaves, the competition will get even better.

I'm not saying he will leave, but I believe if he does this team won't be as bad as some people believe it will be without T.O.

ok so we'll be potentially going with RW11 as our #1 and Crayton as our #2? Welcome to middle of the road USA.

Two people reporting on this and two seperate threads, plus another one or two essentially discussing things that could all be put under one topic.

Definately the offseason around here. :(

I don't see how Dallas could cut him it would cost almost as much as keeping him, what's the point?

Outside of the Cardinals, I don't see another team in the playoffs that have better receivers than those two - Roy and Crayton.

And so what? You mean to tell me with a roster full of talent we can't get anymore out of our team sans T.O.?

T.O. is not the savior of this team. If he were, the Cowboys would be playing for the Super Bowl or have won it already.

T.O. isn't going to fix all of what is wrong with this team, but cutting him will alleviate a whole lot of team chemistry discord.

I asked for a good route runner. We'll need that desperately with 8 in the box often.

How hard is it to run a slant across the middle with 8 men in the box?

just offseason bs. but I would be thrilled if he was released.

If they unload him, I hope that TJ Houshmandzadeh is on their radar...

Well, now Mickey is saying that report was wrong and it's actually June 3.

So your plan is intact. :)

Well. Then *you* shut up.

I'd rather they address real positions of need like safety,ILB,NT depth,O-line. tj is gonna be 32 next september anyways.

TO needs to stay put.

Funny too, how in our blow-out loss to his former team even, when all was said 'n done, it was TO acting the most professional on this team. Yet he's the, our "cancer".

My belief, there is no story here. TO knows he's secure or we would've heard and/or seen something by now, and especially after that Eagle embarrassment. But instead, the exact opposite of many predictions happen. And as I predict, will continue happening.

The person who gives me growing worry is, Barber. I don't like how he "puked" out at the end of the season. Or, how when our season was quickly washing down the gutter that it literally took him till the last game was basically over to get himself back out on that field. Granted I did like seeing him out there, but I thought it was a tad too late and almost wondered why at that point. Almost like, what was he trying to prove? He should've been out there proving it week 16 or at very least week 17 as the game was starting, not when it was already over with.

And another area now that we've got him, Roy Williams. His lack of production not necessary, but how mouthy he got in such a short period of time here, does bother me. He wasn't producing on the field immediately yet some how he thought he had earned the rite to become so outspoken against what we're trying to do. Almost to the point I worry that instead of getting a player that we've actually instead inherited partially what was wrong in Detroit in the first place to warrant the first 0-16 season in recorded NFL history. And as we've witnessed first hand this past season, the attitude you carry is often the result you weave.

I don't see how they can bring TO back in 2009 under the same circumstances. Hopefully, at a minimum, these discussions will lead to a serious set of rules that Owens must follow to stay in Dallas. These interviews with Deion Sanders and the rants need to stay in house just as much as these "anonymous sources" talking to Ed Werder.

Personally, I hope they just cut ties so that this team can be start fresh. That was not my stance last year, but times have certainly changed.

That's pretty misleading. Those final 8 games are wildly skewed by his 7 catch 213 yard performance.
Watching games on tv is very misleading. You can only see a fraction of the field most of the time. Owens gets mouthy when he's running down the field open and Romo throws a short out for 3 yards on 3rd and 9.

I have no problem with Owens getting on people. He wants to win.

Romo probably needs someone to ride him a little. God knows nobody else is. He looked indecisive and sailed lots of intermediate passes after his pinky injury.

I haven't seen a thing from Roy Williams that shows me he's a better #1. Or even a better #2 than Crayton.

Williams arrival was suppose to benefit Crayton by moving him to the slot where he excelled before. Then they never even looked at him again. Williams looked lost against Philly. He's slow off the line, rounds his routes and his footwork telegraphs his cuts. He's got disappointment written all over him.

Without Owens threatening the safety, that offense might get worse. It's a real possibility. Be careful what you wish for.

Well said, I agree 100%. No T.O. means RW and Crayton/Miles. I don't see many defenses biting their nails on that lineup.

Chad Pennington was throwing to Ted Ginn, Greg Camarillo, Davone Bess and Anthony Fasano. He threw for 3,700 yards and had one of the best YPA in the league.

You don't think that Romo, Williams, Crayton, Austin and Witten could be that effective, if not better?

:hammer:

Not to mention the stable of Running Backs we have and Martellus Bennett.

Its all about the Offensive Scheme and the players playing as one unit instead of several units.

yeah, against SF, KC, OAK, NYJ, STL, SEAT, DEN, SDGO, BUF and HOU. Those are some killer defenses.

If the Cowboys had a schedule like that, this conversation would be mute.

1. And he should. I would.
Its the wrong call and Romo is showing that he cannot utilize TO skills to their FULL potential. That needs to remedied by creating mismatches and getting the ball to TO sooner...ie. quick slants, etc...

2. Agreed. Romo is a little too full of himself. For someone who hasnt won a playoff game. Its annoying.

3. It doesnt matter. Just get rid of him. To heck with the ramifications. Just make all the hater happy.

I mean... why bother trying to make it work. Owens obviously doesnt want to........ /sarcasm
