Lombardi says Dallas having "serious internal discussions" about releasing Owens

Yeah but you are missing one player also you have to replace AND you charge your salary with 9.6 mi8ll - i think together thats huge. You have to add that money for the new player also. And as much as TO may have declined he still is a good receiver IMO so you can't just say hey lets replace hime with a second round pick.

TO's replacement is on the roster. That was the entire long-term thinking behind the Roy Williams trade.

We'd likely be looking at an increased focus on a draft pick spent on a WR but we'd be looking that way anyway.

He does have something left but it is far better to get rid of someone a year too early than a year too late.

I'm up in the air about this one... You know a team like the Commanders would grab him, so you'll have to face him 2 times a year, but I believe Miles Ausitn and Roy Williams would make a nice combination.

I have this ominous feeling that another pic will be added to this thread which will kill this feel-good moment.

his physical ability is not the issue, dude is a distraction to the team. quit bringing in these bad apples.......please, it's not working jerry.

I doubt the Commanders would sign him. Zorn is having his hands full with Clinton Portis. Do you really think he wants to add the headache T.O. would bring?

That's pretty misleading. Those final 8 games are wildly skewed by his 7 catch 213 yard performance.

Only thing is, he's owed a $3.1 million roster bonus in March.

Oh. I'll shut up, then.

This is all coming from Stephen and I LOOOOVE it.

Go Stephen. Kick your daddy's little sorry assss.

You can't trade him because no one would want Owens and his over-inflated contract.

He's untradeable for even a 10th rounder--and those don't exist anymore.

Just cut the POS.

I don't understand why some people on this board are so against releasing Owens. As much as I hate their franchise and city, look at the Eagles. Who are their two starting WR's? DeSean Jackson and Kevin Curtis. I'm pretty sure we could get along just fine with Miles Austin and Roy Williams...

I really don't care if he's here or gone, but I'll tell you that Romo is on a short leash in my book this next season. We've all talked bad about TO, but we're willing to overlook careless interceptions, fumbles, wide opened receivers etc.

So adios Owens, Romo has no more excuses, neither does Wade or Garrett. I'm pretty sure a ton of fans will just find another person to hate, maybe when Owens is gone, they'll re-direct their attention to Crayton and Roy Williams.

Did that game not occur?

If we are going to do some cleaning, we shouldn't stop at TO.

it's either TO or Garrett that goes

IMO
I seriously doubt that's the case at all. But if it were, it'd be a pretty tough decision if only because it might be hard to replace Garrett with a quality coordinator if it's viewed that TO ran him out of town. Clearly, TO is better for this offense than Garrett. But if TO were to prevent us from getting a quality coordinator, that'd be a problem too.

It might be best if both were gone. Worst case scenario is TO is gone and Garrett stays.
