Longest NFC Championship Game Drought *MEGA Merge*

With Washington’s stunning win over Detroit, we are the only NFC team left without an NFC Championship game appearance since 1996, our last time. The Commanders were a 4 win team last season.

I didn't realize Detroit had one? Either way, we're pathetic.

You can downplay the importance of QB position all you want, but you're proven wrong every single year.
I am not downplaying it. I am saying downplaying the ownership change is stupid.

It was a major factor. Again you have zero idea if Synder and his FO would have even taken Daniels if they were still in charge.

The Bengals have an owner that is Jerry Jones lite.

They drafted Burrow and immediately went to the Super Bowl.

You can draft a QB and change a bad franchise into a good one over night. You can change owners and still be trash.

Well to be fair, Jerry does spend his money but only in damaged goods!
Well he keeps most of his own players because he wants everyone to know what a scouting genius he is but as far as free agency, no. We haven't done anything since Brandon Carr burned the f out of us.

Ultimately, I got #3 and #4's order wrong. However, it is kinda funny how any disagreement with my very early assessment eventually demonstrated how opinions can REALLY differ between different people.

Half of the NFC East resurrected itself this season. What will 2025 show all fans, both early next season and twelve months from now?

I get it. I’ve been numb for about 15 years as a defense mechanism.

Yeah normally I'd be fairly devastated with this conference championship. Not any more.

It sucks but theres a part of me that just wants to pour it on Jerry. The more negative press generated, highlighting his failures the better. I hope he gets completely roasted, because I know he's trying to fall back to good old Kellen Moore and it makes me sick.

I'm so exhausted from his "comfort zone." Screw him and his comfortable hires. Go make a change and participate in actual free agency you cheap piece of crap.

Oh Boy..

Dam, even the homers on this board (all 3 of them left) can’t sugar coat this turd,

You were pretty close, you had Philly first and Washington second, which is what actually happened.

You had Giants at three and Cowboys last, ended up the opposite, Dallas was 3rd and Giants in the cellar.

That’s not bad for a September prediction!

Whoever predicted getting blown out twice by the Eagles nailed it. But I don't even think that poster thought we'd get blown out one of those games by an Eagle team led by Kenny Pickett/Tanner McKee.

This is just depressing on many levels. Thanks Jerry.

Again, with Synder do they even draft Daniels? And if they hire the wrong coach guess what? Daniels can’t salvage that himself.

You sound foolish.

I agree w everything you said and it has felt like for a long time that Jerry has lost a generation of local fans(ie, kids growing up in DFW area who never became fans because we’ve never even gotten close to winning) as well as fans like us that reached their breaking point as fans.

The best I can hope for is home games continue to become full of opposing fans.

And come Super Bowl week, as reliable as the sunrise, Jerry will announce his new, to put it in “The Office” terms, “Assistant to the Head Coach” or as Jerry calls it, his new “head coach”. Many fans will buy PT Barnum’s fool’s gold of hope that we could actually win a div round playoff game and will be disappointed for the 30th season in a row.

As you said, Jerry will hire a coach that makes him comfortable, like he’s getting fitted for a sport coat, Jerry will don his head coach’s uniform at training camp, and we will all watch next season unravel whether it happens in week 12 or week 18.

While Washington can go from a four win team to the conf championship game in one season, that will never happen here as long as a Jones is in charge. Hubris, nepotism, and thinking their billions make them the smartest people in the room will always produce the subpar results we’ve all seen the past 29 seasons. Three decades of no nfc championship game appearances is a lock and is coming like a freight train in 2026. Perhaps one of the few joys left a Cowboy fan is witnessing Jerry unravel with increasing anger and frustration towards the media’s questions about the past 29 seasons. Questions like “Why have the Cowboys failed to reach the conf championship game in the salary cap era Jerry helped introduce”? And watching Jerry double down on his philosophy of micromanaging ever facet of football operations while ensuring we will lose home games due to blinding sun is enough to make the most hardcore fan take up drinking. But the sweetest drink will still be watching Jerry unravel and pitch public temper tantrums for all the world to see.
