Look in the mirror

I actually heard that very part where the caller asked about the negativity, and Larry Brown said he was just keeping it real. Ugh.

I don't know what it is. I guess it all comes back to the past successes and now people think anything short of that is a joke.

But Troy pretty much called out the fans when he said Dallas wasn't a football town, it was a winners town. Basically what he meant was that it was a town of frontrunners who think that everyone sucks until proven otherwise, and then we'll get on the bandwagon. Until they go downhill again, when the real favorite sport of mocking the local team starts up again.

I was Oklahoma City when we played the Commanders and went out to watch the game, and there was a big group of Browns fans that were cheering like crazy for their team. In a way it was ridiculous because that team is so bad, but part of me envied that kind of hardcore devotion.

Anyway, I'm rambling, but sometimes I think the attitude of this town is a detriment. When you win you're the best ever, and when you lose you are totally heartless and hopeless. I think you've even mentioned Parcells talking about that.

Parcells did on his way out in one of those interviews with laufenberg, he made reference to it being a hard place to get the right attitude.

and Because it is ironic, I was talking to doctor32 on the phone when I got home yesterday, which is a tradition I enjoy, and I was ranting to him about how I have had it with this area and basically what I posted here.

So anyway I was telling him about a friend of mine back home who is a lifelong browns fan, he never waivered and he stood by his team and went to games every year and just lived and died with the team, like we do.

He is 42 years old and has never had any great moments. He has had his heart ripped out repeatedly. He was a huge fan of kosar, I used to talk to him about the drive and the fumble all the time. His attitude was always I wanted to play them again, I wanted to beat them...a tough stand in my teams corner attitude.

he is still that way today, last time I talked to him he was behind them 100% and couldnt wait for the season. I have never heard him waiver on his fanhood, never heard him talk trash to anyone..etc.....he just loves his team.

Its a thought process that doesnt even register down here because of the spoiled moronic nonsense about the super bowls of the 90s and 70s.

That is why it is louder on offense here, because all people care about down here is offense. That is what makes the crowd go and that is why they are so quick to bail on their team. In most cities when teams are down 10-3 at home in a huge game you cant hear your self think because the fans understand that is the time the team needs you and you know you took a punch and you need to throw one back.

The morons here just sit there waiting for the offense to get the ball while screaming and yelling about who should be fired.

I just think it has to do with culture.. I don't know because i watch hockey and the Dallas Stars have a good fanbase.
