It seems everything Roseman does these days turns to gold. It’s okay to be envious. Our GM’s suck
Man, am I the only one who thinks we really missed the boat when it came to Dan Quinn? Had we just gave him a deal where he stayed, and would be guaranteed to be the next man up for the HC spot.... I don't know. He got a very underachieving Commanders team to the NFC Championship game.

Maybe all the "success" McCarthy had here might have had something to do with DQ?

DQ would have been a good get. But having said that a lot of new HC’s come in and turn it around first year with a new QB. Next season will be harder for them just like it was for the Texans with CJ Stroud. What’s scary is Wash has almost 100 million or something to spend this offseason….Look for Tee Higgens and other all star FA’s to add to them……

And they kicked the Cowboys butts in the draft by trading Wentz for a couple of 1sts. We're not smart enough to do that.
The unrestricted franchise tag on Dak would have solved that. But even Jerry screwed that one up

Imagine if they made an offer Jerry could not refuse for Parsons.

Maybe? Or maybe not.

Taking a close look at both teams, there are many similarities. Both teams have a #1 WR with average #2 and #3. Both teams have a decent TE. Both teams have holes on the o-line. Wash has a better d-line, but we have better DB's. Our kicker is better. Our return man is better. But Dan Quinn has Jayden Daniels and we had Cooper Rush, or a healthy Dak. Daniels is miles better than Rush and I'll take him over Dak too. I doubt Quinn would have done better this year in Dallas than MM. Daniels is much better than any player we can put at QB.

Eagles signed:

-Barkley-having a legitimate mvp type of season
-Baun-is in contention for defensive player of the year.
-CJ Garner Johnson-key member of their secondary
-Becton-has solidified their OL when they converted him to Guard

All they lost was Reddick and they got a 2nd rd pick for him.

We signed Kendricks and lost players like Pollard, Fowler (had a tremendous yr), Armstrong, Gilmore, Tyron Smith. Got nothing but late rd comp picks.

The Cowboys Model of just drafting, developing and signing their own just doesn't work in this current landscape. Until they change, expect similar results. This was the reason why I was pushing BB and Saban since our blow out loss to the Lions as they had the clout/hardware to try to convince the Jones Family changes were needed. Now they hire another puppet and we can expect a good team, but never a legitimate super bowl contender.
You know the sad thing is your exactly right. Schottenheimer is no more than another year sir man. I heard he wants to change the culture, and that sounds great but starts with gaining control and Jerry won't give that completely to him. We don't know if he could be the next Shanahan but what we do know is he won't get a fair chance.

Injuries killed the Texans. But yeah the Commanders are going to be a real problem because that kid Daniels instantly changed the culture with the direction of Dan Quinn. He is special and going to get better. If Dallas were to trade Parsons for two #1 picks Dallas would end up with two trash players picked at the end of the first round. And Washington would be on their way to building a SB contender.

I agree, but it appears that Jerry is allowing him to bring in his own staff, which is a start in the right direction.

I’m never in the camp that trades away generational players. And that’s my point. Sure you get picks but what if you get a Mazi and Guyton for Micah? No thanks…

Exactly! Jerry had Chris Jones sitting there when he took that gimpy LB and had that Watt kid sitting right in front of him and he took some trash player. I have a feeling Jerrys next dumb move will be to pass on Arch Manning.

JJ has never been able to change with the times, he's still living in his make-believe world where he thinks everyone is wrong and he's always right.

This this reminds me of a quote he made leading up to the 2022 SB:

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profo...ll-to-win-this-year-cowboys-think-longer-term

“But I do think longer term,” Jones said. “And I’m real hesitant to bet it all for a year. There’s a lot of things that can happen for that year. In essence, we’re seeing a couple of teams that have had some real success putting it all out there and paying for it later, in Philadelphia and Los Angeles.”

This is Philadelphia paying for it
