Hypothetically, he signs today. Do you guys stay at 27 and take bpa or trade up and snatch Gurley? I think if we stay put we'll get Kevin Smith(cb) or Alvin Dupree(DL).

I'm not a full out BPA believer and don't think most teams are either. We need defense, DL and secondary players like you mentioned. If our number comes and the best player available is a center, I personally wouldn't be too thrilled with that choice. I think it's BPA in your areas of need.

would be surprised to see Dupree drop to #27. I do think you bring up good point on Gurley. I could easily see Jerry feeling dallas is only RB away if they sign Hardy. It will come down to Gurley medical check-out (i forget the date). If it looks like knee has healed properly he might go as soon as #17 to San Diego.

Me too.

Best player available THAT YOU NEED.

Best player available = doesn't guarantee he is best of anything.

Draft is crap shoot.

Take what you NEED.

If we sign Hardy today, we will be going into the draft with 2 huge needs RB and CB.

in my opinion the biggest need being CB, i also think Gurley will be there at 27 not sure what CB will be,

Stay put...absolutely no trading up....I wouldn't mind a trade down no more than 5 to 10 picks, picks up an extra 3rd.
But only if a player is not there at #27.

Yep. I'd love three players out of the top 100

We have alot of needs on defense so we could easily stay and take BPA and fill a need at the same time

This is the guy who makes coffee runs during the draft.

BPA at position of need if there is one graded for that round. CB is clearly something we do need - probably more than RB with what we have on the roster right now. If we get Hardy and resign Ro then our front seven is in decent shape (not great but decent). I believe the team expects very little from Claiborne, so that probably means CB is top priority- also depending on what they really think about Carr.

There are no really good FS prospects I have seen so that is out.

I think we need more DL help. Alot of our DT are just average.

I am not even going to think about the post Hardy roster until he is our property. Too easy to dream and I hate being disappointed.

If either of the top two corners are there I take them. If any of the top three RB's are there, I take them. If none of these players are there, I trade back.

I'd prefer to trade back if a guy we love is not there. Add two quality defenders and use the extra ammunition to go higher in the third to be sure to grab our running back target, whichever one we like best.

I wouldn't consider trading up for a RB.

since we are discussing hypotheticals what IF Peterson is realeased as well and he signs in big D....no need to draft a RB at that point either..
