would he be BPA over Gurley?

Might be. He's a top 10-15 talent but might fall because of off field issues. But he's consisted the most talented CB in the draft though might drop to a late round pick for choking his coach. He's 6 foot tall and can man cover like they said Claiborne could coming out of the draft.

BPA regardless of position. Thats how you win at drafting.
And NO... we did not reach for Fredrick.

I thought I read he isn't very good in zone, he's basically a man corner with non-elite athleticism.

I think the Wake Forest guy, Kevin Johnson? is probably a real target. From what I've read about him, he sounds like a good fit here. He'd certainly be our 2nd best corner from Day 1.

don't want to give up resources under any circumstances...stay @ 27 or slight trade back (if partner available) to get an additional 3rd or 4th....and that is regardless of Hardy

Hypothetically, he signs today. Do you guys stay at 27 and take bpa or trade up and snatch Gurley? I think if we stay put we'll get Kevin Smith(cb) or Alvin Dupree(DL).

Based on the fact Hardy's deal is only one year and rumors that moClay is on the trade block I'd guess that all of RB, DE, CB, and DT are I'm play at 27. If we got AP, I would guess RB is off in rd one. Dupree or Kevin Johnson at 27 would be awesome if we have AP. Who knows, someone HAS to drop to us

Brown seems to be really climbing the boards. I've seen a few mocks that show him going to the Lions.

Yes Brown wont make it past the Lions since they pretty much lost their dominate Dline. I can see Detroit reaching for a D lineman in the 1st if Browns gone as well.

If we stay at 27 im hoping one of these are available.

-Todd Gurley RB
-M Brown DT
-M Peters CB
-K Johnson CB
-Bud Dupree Edge

If not then i hope we trade back. If we cant find a trade partner i would gladly take Eddie Goldman. I know a 1tech but our 1st is pretty much a very early 2nd round pick anyways. Mine as well create a beast run defense.

Stay put...absolutely no trading up....I wouldn't mind a trade down no more than 5 to 10 picks, picks up an extra 3rd.
But only if a player is not there at #27.

I would do the tradeback 10 spots and take Coleman or Ajayi, I think these backs will go off the board fast once it starts.

Agree, I mentioned this before also, trade down 5 to 10 picks, but no more than 10, pick up an extra 3rd rounder. Still get 4 players that will contribute in 1st 3 rounds.

According to Walter football website draft chart, our 27th in the 1st is worth 680 points. We trade down about 10 spots, that is 530 at pick 37th overall, so 150 points left gets us around the 25th spot in the 3rd.

And in that scenario I take that trade unless there is an absolute stud there for us at 27. That would give us 37,60 in the 2nd and approx 85 and 87 in the 3rd, probably off a little in the 3rd.

Guess I'm in the minority here. Just looking at the comp picks we are likely to get in 2016, I'd be willing to swap our 3rd for Pittsburgh's 4th as well as give up a 2016 4th rounder (Parnell) or 5th rounder (Carter). BTW, yes I know you can't trade comp picks, but I'd trade the pick we own in that round.

Very unlikely Gordon or Gurley are there since Detroit, Arizona and Carolina pick right before us. Also no guarantee that the Chargers don't go RB, but I'd definitely be willing to trade up with Pittsburgh.

You always draft BPA, that is why the Cowboys struggled in the past in the draft.

Taking Martin was an example of taking BPA, look how that one turned out. We needed defense but Martin was simply the BPA.

Signing Hardy would not change anything, other than offering a corrective to reaching for a DE in round one.

We should focus on BPA while addressing RB, DE, DT, CB, LB and all other best players available regardless of position.

I do not think Hardy changes very much since it is a one year deal, it does allow some flexibility in the first few rounds.

We should proceed the same as if he were not available, we need to continue to rebuild this defense through the draft.
