I don't want to start a "does he deserve to play" thread. This is just some good info and you can take it for what it's worth. Pretty cool to find out who's helping at this point and exactly what he's doing in the meantime.

From drunk speed racer to contrite player in the hands of Michael Irvin.

It looks like the rusty Josh Brent might really be coming to Valley Ranch after all. Shame on Jerra.

The one he is most qualified to do. Nothing more than anyone would hope for in this situation no matter what job they did. Should an Accountant, who killed someone drunk driving be forced to work for McDonalds for the rest of his career?

According to some on here, yes, they would answer, yes.

he did serve his time and seems willing to make changes. I didn't think Dallas was good place to restart his career but if he is comfortable with it and cowboys family will properly support him....why not.

yeah, guys this has been done to death (pun intended) Look it, the family forgave him and he has served time. Now, he has to live with it his whole life and that is brutal.

Those of you that can't move forward are close minded and keep in mind judgement in this case is really only an opinion at this point.

Give the man a chance to pay it back and be an example for turning his life around instead of continuing to play the holier than thou card.

I thought this thread was regarding Dez's contract situation, you had me terrified for a second lol.

Like another poster said, Brent paid his debt so I have no problem if he plays again. Honestly I hope he does, good for him, hopefully he gets his life on track for good. I'm sure it will also benefit the surrounding community as he'll be able to bring more awareness to drinking and driving.

The unthinkable? It's only unthinkable if you don't live in reality. He has the right to work, and the NFL is a business. So deal with it or find a new team to root for. I hope he plays again he has a goddaughter to provide for. If he doesn't have a career who is going to support her?

Brent pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence on June 2, 2009, as a result of an incident from the previous February. He was sentenced to two years probation and 60 days in jail. He was also fined and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.[10]

On December 8, 2012, Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter in Irving, Texas, after a motor vehicle accident in which he was the driver killed his teammate, Jerry Brown.[11] Police documents showed that Brent was driving at least 110 mph and may have been driving as fast as 134 mph right before the crash,[12] on a road where the posted speed limit was 45 mph.[13] Brent later failed a sobriety test and would face 2 to 20 years in prison if convicted.[14] Brent was found by the police pulling out his friend and teammate. Jerry Brown's mother begged the Cowboys to keep Brent as a teammate and not forget him.[15]

On December 26, 2012, a grand jury indicted Brent on one count of intoxication manslaughter.[16]

On May 24, 2013, the Dallas district attorney requested to revoke Brent's bail for not adhering to the monitoring conditions and send him to jail to await trial. The judge denied the request and ordered additional forms of monitoring.[17]

Then, on June 27, 2013, he was sent back to jail after it was revealed that he had failed a drug test on June 19. Before this, he had also failed another drug test in late May, testing positive for marijuana both times.[18] He was released from jail due to a court order on July 7, 2013.

On January 24, 2014, Josh Brent was found guilty of intoxication manslaughter in the death of Jerry Brown and sentenced to 180 days in jail and 10 years probation.[19][20]

I don't care if his mother forgave him.
This guy has a pattern.
And now we hear that he still has a handler in Wells and will also be working with the Playmaker and Lett which tells me he is still having problems.

No thank you.

Sounds like you'd be a great addiction counselor.

Leonard Little & Donte Stallworth got a second chance so why should he be any different. Imagine being the reason your best friend is dead and having to live with that for the rest of your life, your job would be the only thing keeping you from killing yourself. It's real easy to judge when you're not in the same situation.
