Looks like Zeke will keep his streak intact

Zeke literally had one good year behind the best offensive line in football and some of you guys thought he was the second coming of Emmitt.

Maybe I'm just sick of him, but he's got me to the point I like Demarco Murray better. Then again I like MB3 better than both of em. So I guess it about more than stats.

The point is the correlation between a great back and a great OL is very strong
No the Cowboys offensive line was trash until Emmitt ran behind it. That is what every Barry over Emmitt fool has said over the years. Dallas offensive line was trash until Emmitt came along. Then Larry Allen solidified them.

You think people shouldn't hate on clearly diminishing returns yet he keeps getting trotted out there? Your anti-criticism reflex is showing again. Lawd!
He was doing okay for a while but I think he's channeling his "inner Rockport". :muttley:

I was so excited to see him go away the first time. For some reason this time I don't even care.

using that logic, Emmitt had a career behind the best OL in football,,

putting down Zeke for some agenda is silly, he was a top RB for four years despite Robespierre Goodell going after him incessantly
This might apply to the first half of Emmitt's career but starting in about 1996 or 1997 when guys started to get old and beat up, including himself, that line lived more on reputation than execution. Emmitt finishing top 3 in rushing in 1999 with almost 1400 yards behind a line that was in a state of flux and missing two games himself was an absolute miracle. Damn I missed that guy.

Zeke was an absolute god out there. He got paid and that was it. Never took his body or his career seriously. Just a clown who signed his 90 million dollar deal and was happy with that. I don't blame him for it. Seems reasonable to me. Ultimately it is Jerrys fault for signing a guy who was clearly not committed to football. I can still despise them both for it. I am a Cowboy fan and he has been killing the team for years.

RonnieT24 thought this mountain of a man at rb had lots of gas left in the tank and stated he would punish defenses. Lmao. Just goes to show how out of touch Dallas fans like him are. Zero ability to watch a game and make logical observations.

More fact than opinion….Ezekiel Elliott had at least borderline HOF talent, probably more, but definitely isn’t borderline getting in.

More opinion than fact…..he took winning much more seriously in college and since he did win, the NFL was just a playground for him even before the Cabo situation. The Dallas environment and culture didn’t help.

I’ll never not be pissed off about the holdout, but I also don’t blame him for doing it. A first round back might never get paid if they don’t force the issue. Teams need to not take a RB in RD1 if they aren’t prepared to pay them after year three.

Another excellent post.

It's a Cowboys Thing. Sign busting players to record-busting contracts. The Joneses will never learn.

What we see as a decline Jerry sees as consistency and potential for improvement.
No reason to not give him another 4 years to try and get better. Remember, Jerry is not living in the past with zeke, it’s all about the future!

It was frustrating to see Jerry sign a declining player who will get playing time just because. I knew the season was over then because Dallas FO could not be serious making a move like that.

Even worse, they continue to play Zeke, they continue to not search/sign other RBs to possibly help a group that's below average. I just heard talent acquisition was a 365 type deal, but that was another lie told just to sound good.
