Then it was Gurode, whomever the center was on the play. Sapp was not lined up across from LA

You're completely wrong. I just watched that play. Sapp lined up across from Allen, and Allen was the only lineman who attempted to block Sapp. Gurode was looking to his right, away from Sapp. Allen got embarrassed on the play, but we lucked out when Sapp was flagged for roughing the passer (leaving his feet and landing on top of Bledsoe).

I taped that game and just watched it. LA NEVER attempts to block Sapp.

Here is an interesting question:

If you are too slow to even make it look like you are trying to block your man, is the sack not your fault?

And that scheme would still be more productive than the pansy, girl scout style of running we will be imploying this season.

This sure sounds like you know better than the coach to me....

So you'll not speak of it again, right?

As per your promise.

You had the opportunity to see Allen in 16 games last year.

If you think he played well then we can't really trust your evaluation of Kosier now can we?

if u wanna make this about me and not the players... I'm not sure where I said ALLEN played well but once again the theme is not how good KOSIER is its how bad Allen was.... that scares me!!!

You're either lying, don't have a clue what you're talking about or are watching the wrong game.

Allen started to block Sapp but was pushed backward. Allen lost his footing in the dirt (the baseball infield), nearly did the splits, quit blocking Sapp, then put his hands on the ground as Sapp grabbed Bledsoe, picked him up and bodyslammed him to the ground.

here is what I will miss about LA... guys like Arrington and TROTTERs game are based on intimidation and over powering... this is the NFC EAST is BACK and its all about POWER FOOTBALL its not the AFC WEST baby!!! anyone see the Iggs oline... and they run the WCO with WESTBROOK, so please!!!

when LA was on the team noone tried that BS like giving the QB or RB a little business... they made a play went back to the huddle!!! that may change this year!!!

I know LA cant "stalk" the way he used to but what OL coach is going to run a play where LA has to block DEXTER COAKLEY type player anyway... now if LAVAR is sitting on his front foot over the TE breathing so heavy the QB can smell it... I'm sending LA to go take the lead out of his pencil and maybe LA could not get there but at least I would let LAVAR know he is on LA hit list and he better get off his front foot!!!

LA is gone... but lets not rip him to make KOSIER look good! thats Raidernation type BS! if u like KOSIER, cool... talk about him on what he has done not what u think LA cant do!!! thats no so hard is it?

He never "blocks" him, it isnt even his assingment. He bumps Sapp, hardly a block, slips, and Sapp hits Bledsoe.

So if it's "hardly a block", that demonstrates his inconsistencies in terms of effort that have dogged him for the last four years.

Maybe so, but it sure does not look like that was his assingment. The way Allen starts the play, it doesnt look like he anticipated Sapp coming free.

the only two that refuse to see the light are Mont and HH. Sort of makes sense, doesn't it?

Apparently, you are clueless.

For anyone who doesn't have the game on tape, you can find it at the 1:56 mark of this video --

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQZQ4mQ268o

Sapp embarrasses Allen on the next play of that highlight video, too. (It's not the next play of the game. It actually came before the sack.)

After watching Sapp's sack in that video, everyone can decide for themselves whether --

a) Sapp lined up across from Allen, and Allen was the only lineman who attempted to block Sapp. Gurode was looking to his right, away from Sapp. Allen got embarrassed on the play, but we lucked out when Sapp was flagged for roughing the passer (leaving his feet and landing on top of Bledsoe). ... OR

b) Sapp was not lined up across from LA. ... LA NEVER attempts to block Sapp. ... He never "blocks" him, it isnt even his assingment. ... The way Allen starts the play, it doesnt look like he anticipated Sapp coming free.

Sapp lines up between the center and Allen. That highlight doesnt show right when the ball is snapped an Allen has his head turned away from Sapp. It seems to me that Allen was going to double the DE and Sapp was Gurode's man, but being the moron that he is, he just stood up and did.....nothing

Your dogged determination is admireable, but is making you look foolish.

I find it hard to believe that Gurode was supposed to just stand up. IMO, it was his assingment to block Sapp, he got his signals crossed, and blew the assingment. Notice LA's left leg in the highlight, he is just turning it back from where he stood up right at the snap, where it looks like he was going to double the DE. It seems that he stood up, saw Gurode not block Sapp, went "Oh, crap" tried to recover, never got a good piece of him, and had no chance. I concede after watching it a few more times he does attempt to block him, but only after Gurode put him in an awful position.
