TO, Crayton, Hurd, Miles, Stanback(ST)

So...... is it down to Lowber VS Amendola?

Who could potentially be more valuable on ST?

Grandpa Garrett's horse-teeth tell me Lowber.

My money's on White Lightning, though.

I'd say at this point, Lowber is the lesser unknown of the two and more likely easier to slip onto the practice squad.

Amendola hands down.

Supposedly Amendola's greatest asset is he's already so polished, so is a #6 WR as good as Amendola is going to get? If Amendola isn't significantly better than Lowber at this stage of the game, considering he's probably had thousands more practice reps and hundreds more game snaps as a WR in his lifetime, that's pretty sad. The #6 WR isn't going to suit up and play immediately anyway, so you want to keep the #6 WR who has a chance to be more down the road.

Ok Hostile, are you saying we only keep 5 WRs and one of them (Austin) is injuried for X amount of weeks?

Or do you see a different young WR maybe filling that 6th WR spot?

IDK

Werent a ton of teams after lil buddy after the draft?

Like I said earlier. Jax, KC, Ten, Den, Chi would jump on him.

You cant teach what Amendola lacks, you can teach what Lowber lacks

From what I see they are on two sides of the spectrum. One is fast, big, and runs poor routes. The other is way too small and slow, but quick, runs great routes.

It's a conundrum. Generally I take the most polished guy (Danny boy), but he is very small and doesn't appear to have a whole lot of upside vs what he is today. On the other hand, Lowber has a ton of upside, but isn't anywhere near NFL ready.

Considering the state of the team today. (We are Superbowl contenders NOW) I go with Danny boy and hope nobody nabs Lowber off the practice squad.

There were some rumblings earlier that Mike Jefferson was playing well. I don't know if he has faded or if the beat guys forgot about him.

I predict Lowber could be on the PS, but there is no way Danny boy is going to be on it. If the Cowboys try to place him there, he is gone. Not because he is highly talented, but because he can be a stop gap player for a team that lacks any quality at ST returner and WR depth.

Sometimes you have to let go of players, because there just isn't a roster spot for him.

Between safety, CB, third QB, and WR there is going to be a lot of debating before final roster cuts. With Austin down, I think a lot of wieght just swung into the WR's favor.

My bet (baring more poor play by Danny boy in preseason games) Danny makes the roster and Lowber goes to the PS.

With the way Garrett was giving him props on Hard Knocks, I can see teams that can use a project WR picking Lowber up easy.

I think Jerry will be shopping. Especially with Austin getting hurt. I still think he intends to upgrade the position.

Who? I don't have the foggiest idea. I know who wants to be the #2 guy, but is there a chance? I can't say.

Amendola is a tiny little guy...I guess if he's better keep him but Lowber has more talent.

You don't really hear them badmouthing anyone on hard knocks. The closest thing is Bennett, but I think a lot of that is HBO creating a bigger story than what the Cowboys are letting on.

It will come down to who tackles better. The guy who makes more plays on Special Teams is the guy who will be kept, barring any signing the Cowboys might make. Both have had a TO, so to speak in the pre-season. Amendola because of a fumble on a return and Lowber because he failed to complete his route. I suspect the next game might be the telling one but I guess we will see. I do agree, however, that TL is more likely to make a practice squad then is DA. DA can play now and TL can not.
