I wouldn't mind Musgrave at 26. Dallas has their blocking TE in Ferguson and an athletic type that can stress defenses down the seam like Musgrave would be a nice addition.

LaPorta > Musgrave and those are your two likely options

Not seeing much special about Musgraves....but Laporta i would be good with not in the first. Looks like he has a ton of upside.

6'6" 250 and runs a 4.5 right?

That sounds special to me. Just needs to put it all together, if accurate that is.

The problem last season was we had very little passing game with Cooper Rush, which had a big affect on Schultz. Schultz didn’t do much those five games plus he was battling an injury. Even CeeDee wasn’t that impressive early on when Rush was in the lineup. Schultz really came on when Dak returned and so did CeeDee.
CeeDee did. Shultz had on super game against Tampa but was awful against the 49ers.

I agree, Mayer fits like a glove what this team wants to accomplish, being more balanced and run oriented.
Yah........now if MM was saying were going high octave passing attack then hell yah give me Kincaid or Laporta.

Although I do feel that Mayer is as good as anyone in this draft in the passing game. I think some get too caught up in 40 times.

Once Pollard went down, there was nothing the offense was going to do against the #1 defense in the NFL. Oline was overmatched and Zeke didnt scare anyone. Coach said as much. Once Pollard went down they went right into a nickel zone D and could stop Zeke with 4 lineman. They flooded the passing zones and teed off on the passing rush once Zeke got his 2 yards on first down. It was over. The Oline couldnt run block or pass block.

Niners D is just amazing and they are a horrible matchup for the Cowboys offense.

This is why Gibbs is needed at 26. You split back Pollard and Gibbs and they cannot stop it

Schultz did play better when Dak returned. He missed a couple of games with an injury when Rush was the QB, and he had two games with no catches while Rush was in the lineup. He had 7 catches for 95 yards and two TDs in our playoff win over Tampa. The Cowboys offered him a contract and he chose to leave. He was a good player.

Agree, some give too much weight to testing numbers, many times the better football player prevails. Mayer was one of the most productive on the college level.

I almost went Gibbs/LaPorta instead of Gibbs/Kraft in my mock.

I'd be stoked. Gibbs is a pipe dream though. He makes too much sense for this dumb front office.

Wow. You must hate the tight end position if the only reason to take one at 26 requires them to be equal to the best tight end in the NFL
Youre taking a Tight End...in the first...when we have more pressing needs? you darn rootin tootin he better be .....at minimum he should have 800 yards receiving this year

yes Tight end could and should be upgraded but can we do well with what we have currently? yes

Kincaid will be long gone by the time we pick. Pretty confident on that.

Meyer might be gone too. He’s the pick if he’s there though imo.

But I wouldn’t cry about Musgrave. He’s 6’6 and a great athlete with long arms. All traits that Gronk had coming out of Arizona (no, he won’t be Gronk, but their physical attributes are very similar).

Just hope he don’t draft a dud. That’s all.

Seen some against that but you are correct, I knew the dog was dead when Tony got hurt and you could just see it in the O. Double Lamb and we had no one else that could take it too the house against the niners and they knew it too.

Sure...but he doesn't play that fast and big.
Catch and fall down or get tackled.

Laporta is almost as fast and plays that fast. Is the best RAC TE i have seen of the top 5.

That is why we need to draft offensive playmakers.

Exactly right. We now have Cooks outside and with Gibbs being able to play over we are much more explosive than with Noah Brown
