Yeah, I hear its pretty bad...………...I have a cousin with the same condition, except most of his pain is in his back. They call it the shopping cart effect, where you are bent over like you are pushing a shopping cart at HEB.
For those that dont know this condition, think of it as a hose and inside are all the nerves. Now kink the hose and that is what this condition is, it is a narrowing of the spinal column that cause a "kink" where the nerves are then bunched together. This pinches the nerves and causes all sorts of problems all over your body.
The surgery, as I understand it, removes some of the bone in the spine to in effect "widen the kink" and lower the pinching pressure on the nerves. The problem is that when you widen the kink by removing the bone in that area, the spinal cord is less protected now and any impact or blunt force to that now less protected area could potentially damage the spinal cord resulting in paralysis.
