Is this guy for real? I mean, he has a ring yes, but hes not even 30 yet and he wants to call it a career?

Not sure why it's surprising, he's mentioned it before.

It's not for attention, his style of running is the type that leaves you battered at the end of a career, maybe he just wants to walk normally when he's 50?

He Is set for life and may be dealing injuries. I heard his back is a bit messed up? In any case, from the average fan on the outside looking in, yeah it looks like throwing away the gift. But he can walk away from the game today and look back on a great career and possibly save himself some pain when playing with grandchildren in his 60s.

Do your thing.

Reportedly, Lynch has been considering retirement since before the playoffs..

Then came the report, he was about to get extended.

We'll see...

If this happens, wonder if Seattle will make a strong bid for Murray if we don't re-sign him?

Well, the dude has always marched to the beat of his own drum. If he saved his money and feels like he is all set Financially, then who could really blame him if he wanted to walk away?

He absolutely is serious about it. Whatever decision he makes...all you can do is respect it. The training, the beating, the wear and tear is something the average fan couldn't even fathom let alone do no matter how much money they were offered. He's been playing since probably 6 or 7 years old and been pretty good throughout so...if he wants to shut it down and doesn't feel he still has the gas in the tank to play the way he is known to play then do your thing Beast Mode. #Respect

He should definitely retire. Never seemed like football was his thing...he just did it as a job. Hopefully he can have success with his business ventures.

I think he definitely loves football. If you pay attention to his messages to the media, he always intimates that he just wants to play. He couldn't care less about the press obligations or puffing his chest out in front of the cameras and press. He gives credit to his teammates on his runs and avoids the press because he feels all they want to discuss his him...not the WR that made a block or his lineman or TE or FB. I honestly find that refreshing. Make no mistake though the man who hails from "Oakland Ice City" loves the game and just wants to "ball".

The fire may be waning that's all...

Lynch is a hard guy to figure out I think he likes football it's dealing with the attention and media that's not his thing. If he could play without having to deal with all of that I think he would be fine but I've never seen a player other than Sanders and Leon Lett who looks so uncomfortable in front of the media.
