Didn't know he did a skit on Conan that's surprising. It could be he's just uncomfortable having to talk about himself. He's not shy like Sanders was but he's clearly not comfortable in front of the media. He doesn't want to talk and he hides behind shades.

So why can't he talk about his teammates during media press conferences?

I so want Gurley... or Gordon.... or Coleman... or Johnson. I am not picky just one of those 4.

Coleman is a slower McFadden. Runs tall instead of lowering his center of gravity. If he can correct that, he'll be good, if not, he'll be the same waste of a pick as McFadden. The other 3 you mention are solid though. Ajayi is worth a mention too if we're drafting later rounds. Gurley is the best all around of the group though. It's his health that I would be concerned about.

The media never asks him any questions about his teammates they want to know about him.

But it's so easy to redirect questions to your teammates. It's about as easy as saying, "I'm only here so I won't be fined." :D

I heard he's considering a broadcasting career with Fox. He'll substitute for Troy A. playing the color analyst role next season across from Joe Bucks play by play.
Joe Buck, "Oh boy Sciddles, you mind if I call you Sciddles? What did you think of that last play?" After a long pause, Lynch grabs his junk and faces Joe Buck. "Well Joe Suck, you mind if I call you Suck? I don't care much about the last play. I'm just here so I won't get fined"
Joe Buck turns to the camera, "This is not how it supposed to work. This is not how any of this is supposed to work". :muttley:

Well at least he was being honest saying "I'm only here so I won't be fined."

It's sad when you watch players decline, but as a player, you just can't let it go sometimes.

I've heard Gordon isn't a good fit. He runs outside and has done very little in the passing game. Do you have any insight on him?

Ya know, from what I have watched, he looks like a solid back to me. Remind me of a faster D Murray to be honest. They run very similar, except Gordon has excellent burst and speed. Jamaal Charles like. I've seen him run up the middle plenty. He's a strong guy, I don't know where the narrative is that he is any what weak. He benches 525. They lacked any good QB play, and he frequently played against 8 in the box. 2,587 yards and 29 Tds speaks for itself. He's a baller, workhorse and will be long gone before the bottom of the 1st. As far as his passing game stuff, he's always appeared to me to be a willing blocker, just needs polish on his technique. Mostly, it seems he blocks too upright, instead of lowering himself to get under the rusher. That's an easy fix with a good RB coach. I'd take him in a heart beat. Honestly, as much as I love Gurley, I'm worried that his injury will make him less effective his first year or two. We need an immediate contributor. If it were me, I'd take Gordon over Gurley, only because of his questionable health issues.

Brown and Sanders walked away.

They did both walk away earlier than anticipated, but even so they both played long careers.

Jim Brown played 9 seasons, 120 games, had around 2300 carries and around 12,000 yards. At the time he retired he was the all-time leader in both rushing attempts and yards by a significant margin in both categories. He is currently ranked 9th all-time in yards.

Barry Sanders played 10 seasons, 153 games, had around 3000 carries and around 15,000 yards. At the time he retired he was second all-time in rushing attempts and yards. He is currently ranked 3rd all-time in yards.

Marshawn Lynch has played 8 seasons, 120 games and is sitting at just over 2000 carries and around 8700 yards. While it is a good full career, it is short compared to the careers of both Brown and Sanders.

Is this guy for real? I mean, he has a ring yes, but hes not even 30 yet and he wants to call it a career?
I don't believe for a single second any of this is legit. It is just a negotiating ploy.

Yet you believe in the Patriots.

Interesting.

I could see it happening. I think he is getting more and more pressure, and figures...I'm good.
It very well could be a press play for money. At the same time...this guy barely markets himself.

Good analysis from both your posts.
I think with the injury, Gurley drops out of the first. I don't think teams are willing to pull a Willis McGahee, especially since the running back position isn't as highly valued as it used to be. If Gurley is lower second round, which I doubt, jump up to get him and don't look back - pardon the pun. But I think the Cowboys first two picks need to be defense, unless we can move back and collect additional picks.

I agree. As long as the talent is there for the taking. Otherwise, you draft the best player available that suits a team need. This draft has an exceptional amount of RB talent. I mentioned Zach Zener earlier. YouTube that kid. The only negative I have on him is a lack of elusive speed. He's either in 1st or 6th gear. Everything he does is impressive to me. Runs hard, catches, blocks, good top end speed, great build, 3.87 GPA. He'll be a late steal for someone. He's white so, they list him as a FB? Lol. He's not a FB. Is it March yet?

I don't want any of them if they are In rounds 1-3. We need defense with almost every pick!!!

Why? If we get Carr to take a paycut (likely), resign McClain and Durant (and get Lee back), sign one of the top 6 DEs AND DTs (so much quality makes this likely), where will these 3 defensive guys play? They won't start on the d-line. They won't start as a LB. They might start at CB, but really in our position only Trae is likely to get a starting spot anywhere near right away (and he will likely be gone by 27). If we can do what I listed in FA (which I think is likely as we will likely have 40-50 million to work with depending on what we do with Romo's contract) then we should go BPA in the first 3 rounds... and BPA will likely be a RB at some point in time.
