I would be pissed if we traded Carpenter after passing on Antonio Cromartie last year to draft him. Unless of course we traded him for Cromartie, that would please me.

I like Carpenter and think he will really develope into a great LB and leader, I just really love Cromartie, I think he has the ability to be All Pro, I don't know if we could get equal value ie: a CB as young and talented as Carpenter is at LB, but I doubt we get a guy as talented as Cromartie, whom we could have had in the first place.

How often do trades get done in the NFL?

Now think how often trades of players who are not in a contract dispute happen?

Aside from trading extra pieces for late round picks, you rarely see guys of Ayodele, Carp, or Burnett's quality/potential moved.
