I've been telling you guys for months about Mac Jones. You'd think with my track record on QB's you'd listen.

He'll be the best QB to enter the league since Wentz.

I would be shocked. I think they could have gotten Jones at 12 overall and that would have been early. JMO
It definitely would be surprising... but then I never thought Chicago would pay a ton to trade up one spot in the first round to take Trubisky with Mahomes and Watkins still on the board.

Nothing surprises me with Chicago. I mean, I get why why they went with Trubisky over Mahomes and Watkins. Chicago is windy and Trubisky throws a better ball, through the wind. Folks don't think it's a real thing but it is. Don't get me wrong, it's still one of those deals where you can never kick your own arse enough when you look back on it but I can at least understand that.

Cincy taking a QB this year is different. That would be like KC spending a fortune to move up in the draft so that they could take a QB after just signing Homey to his new deal. Makes no sense at all. It's worse then a miss, it's a hit, but only with a 357 to the foot.

Lol, Cincy isn’t taking a QB this year. I was talking about Jones to SF.

I have had Mac Jones projected high over Lance & Fields for months in my mock drafts, and everyone thought I was crazy

Nothing crazy with your assessment. I have Mac Jones the 2nd best quarterback in the draft. People been sleeping on the joker because he waited his turn at Bama which came out to only playing 1 year as the full time starter. Not a throw this kid can't make at the pro level and should be drafted top 5 at worse.

People want to gripe over lack of speed and not praise the kid of delivering the ball in tight windows on the field.

LOL..... Yeah, just as bad. I mean, they could have had that guy at 12. I don't see it myself. I think they are targeting Lance, Fields or they could be moving up to take Penei. I mean, there overwhelming need is OL and he is the best of a very good lot. He played at Oregon so the 49ers would know about as much as you could about him. If they think he is a once in a lifetime kind of player, they would have to move up ahead of Cincy to get him because they are definitely drafting him, IMO, if he is there. They aren't Trading with Atlanta at 4 IMO because I believe they think Parsons is and edge rusher they are looking for. Remember, Fowler, who they signed last year, finished as the 116th rated edge rusher, out of 124. That is a big need pick for them and if they think Parsons is that guy, then they are taking him at 4 IMO. If not that, then they have a trade worked out and will be making a move to acquire a QB through trade but I feel like it's going to be one of those two QBs or Penei.

A few things come to my mind on this:

1. They aren’t going to make that move up for a non-QB. It is QB all the way.

2. They reportedly loved Lance after his pro day.

3. Fields hadn’t had his pro day at the time of that trade. I might be wrong but I just can’t see them making that trade for Fields before they saw him perform on his pro day.

4. Lance’s strengths align very much with what SF wants to do on offense. More so than Jones’ does.

So, if I had to make a bet right now, I’d go with them moving up for Lance.

But nobody knows for sure so it could be Jones or Fields.

I think it'd Lance, with an outside chance of Penei.

3 first rounders for an ot? Lololol

Would you trade 3 firsts if you thought you were getting Larry Allen? Besides, it's a first pick this year, a first next year which is really a 2nd in trade value and a 1st in 2023 which is a third.

As I said, I think it's Lance but if they think Penei is a once in a generation LT, yeah. Yeah, I could see a team giving up multiple 1st.

It could happen. I still think Lance is the guy but I wouldn’t be shocked if it is Jones.

Lance just fits their offense better, IMO. He’s really good on rollouts and throws maybe the best deep ball in the draft. Those two things are high on Shanahan’s list.

Jones is more accurate though, and I really hope it is Mac so 5 can go before Dallas picks.

Best deep ball in the draft? For real? There are some great long ball throwers this year so that's very high praise. I've slept on Lance because he's such a project, but that's a pretty good endorsement.

He does throw deep pretty well but the reason why I’m saying that is that Daniel Jeremiah was saying that on the NFL Network a couple of days ago. Other’s on there seemed to agree with him.

I do think he throws a pretty deep ball but those opinions are why I’m saying it. In other words, I didn’t scout all of the QB’s and compare all of their deep throws.

I do trust Jeremiah in large part.

Zero chance. Less than zero.

Well, that's your opinion and that's fine. I don't really care one way or the other. I didn't exactly post any of this to get your approval. But still in all, those are the options I can see.

Appreciate that.

I feel like we're at that point in draft season where the people who are the most talented begin to get overly scrutinized and those behind them get overhyped. Case in point, I think Lawrence is hands down the best quarterback talent in the draft and the difference between him and Wilson is measurable. But, people are beginning to put Wilson ahead of Lawrence. It's crazy to me, but to each their own. I respect the breadth of opinions.
