In the draft, I used my scouting to tell me a guy is considered a middle 1st round player. I drafted him at the 32 pick. “bad move. You selected him too early”

Dumb!

It's not dumb. Sometimes scouts make mistakes so I like that that happens.

I'm not complaining that a 1st round graded player has bad grades. I just find that feedback about drafting too early to be silly.

this isn't the real world. we have nothing to actually go on for when a person should be drafted other then them telling us when it should happen

Teams go off the same thing you're going off, what their scouts suggest.

The only problem is that you know a players rating right away, as opposed to 3 years after you draft them.

I forget whether it was Madden or 2K, but there was a year where rookies ratings were all question marks till after the preseason. I prefer the instant feedback.

Overall, I've been pretty critical of the series in the "current-gen", but this years version is great.

I think the only slider I may tweak is the minimum speed threshold.

A couple of times I've seen the CPU linebacker(Kiko Alonso last time) stick on Lucky Whitehead in coverage. Like follow him perfectly on a post play and speed up to deflect the perfect pass.
If I have a fast player(with blue stamina), those type of plays shouldn't happen

Anyone having random games where the CPU blocks 2+ kicks in a game?

In one game, the opposing ST blocked my kick 3 times.
1 XP and 2 field goals.
The field goals were blocked from the side, as the defender went by untouched.

Next game they blocked two when I simmed the XP.

Last two more punt returners to a broken collarbone, That is 5 returners with a broken collar bone. Someone at EA has a wierd sense of humor on injury coding.

I found some FA beasts. I'll list them tomorrow for franchise people. One is Rico gathers not really a beast but a damn good te. Also keep twill and Butler! Also go to FA And pick up the hb with the last name ham! He's awesome 96 speed.

Crossing routes catches in front of the sticks finishes beyond it. I made him my number two TE for when Witten ever retires.

Does anyone have success in zone coverage? Feel like it's the same as prevent defense in real life.
My CPU guys are slow to react, even with good awareness/zone coverage/play rec.

If you're playing against the computer you're better off playing man.

If you're playing online it should be more effective.

Yea on Franchise.

I play man most of the time, but those quick 5 yard out/corner routes my CBs(with 90+ spd and 85+ man coverage) get burned big time. Even with a safety on that side, with good "coverage" skills, both have horrible reaction skills/run through mud. And the CPU will just use those 2 plays down the field.

Go online and find a good nano blitz with man coverage attached to it and just spam it on the CPU.

Also.. Pressing Y (xbox) Triangle (ps4) and down on the right stick will get your DB's to play under the route.

Cover 3/2/6 out of the nickle w/four man DL spread pass rush usually works but you do have to turn into the secondary player immediately after the ball is thrown and hold Y/Triangle or X/square (this leads to a lot of pop ups/strips from secondary players and Ints)
Spread your DL and crash the Line pre-snap and control your best pass rusher I've found Crawford/Lawrence's power moves work very well when the line is spread on those 3rd and shorts/mediums (a lot of the time the QB will throw a bad pass even short of the first down or out of bounds). Also when controlling your DL player and get stalled, oddly you can dive anywhere near the QB (even if at the feet of the OL blocking you) and then turn into the next DL closest to the QB and they will still rush their throw even though there is no "real" threat (coding error).
