So the people who are like "what's so impressive about Dak's 179 yards?"

Well.....Even Nick Wright states that that statline is deceptive.

He had 179 yards because he sent the game to garbage time early, and basically played the 2nd half on sleep dial. Just possess the ball, run it a bunch of times, throw safe passes, get a few first downs and call it a day.

Game was effectively over with a half left to play after the punt return TD. 27-3

I think Dak's ranking is fair. Thoughts?

Yeah my thoughts are that he looked exactly like he always looks against a quality defense and if you don't shut down the opponent's run while they also have awful QB play, you don't get a bunch of sacks and turnovers and you don't get a special teams score as well, you're probably in trouble trying to compete against the better teams with this 60 million dollar sky pointing stiff.

That's my general post game take.

He got us to 14-3 in 4 possessions and sent the boo birds flying fast into the 2nd quarter. Those 2 drives were largely his doing with a little help from Zeke. I don't know what you were watching.

I don't hate Dak. I expect him to win us some games. He's the regular season man. But, even if the rest of the team sleepwalks in the post-season, I expect more of Dak if he wants to prove he can be that guy. So far, he hasn't proven that. At least not to me. I want to believe because I still want to win. But the clock is always ticking on a QB's career. Dak's has been ticking a while without enough post-season success.

Should we have hung 60 on them and Dak throwing for 479 and 5 td's and well we won the game anyway...didn't we? Dak didn't do more nor less than he was asked to do. He did his job. Wasn't pretty, was a site better than ugly I'll tell you that. Dak is our qb so we ride with him.

I mean it was obvious. Of course the haters have seized on the 2nd half to justify their deep hate of Dak. Their hate blinds them from the fact that there was no reason to expose the playbook. But let them hate.

But, but, but , but. Just enjoy the damn season and quit dwellin on the past when the ENTIRE team failed in the playoffs. How naive some fans are.

Well over here we have a saying: a good horse won't jump higher than it has to.

It was a sound, controlled performance. Just nothing to write home about. The Dak we need wasn't needed on Sunday. What's up with you homers? Shall we celebrate Dak for every pass completed now?

I gave him credit for steering the ship home safe n sound. Our Defense and ST just dominated Cleveland so Dak just had to stay cool and make no mistakes. Which he did, cudos to him. Controlling the game in the second half, winding the clock down was the right thing to do.

Nothing more, nothing less. Ok once he wins a game by his skills with the defense struggling against a contender... then we're talking high up on Mahomes mountain. September 22nd, October 27th... that's where the goalposts are and always were. Looking forward to those games.

Why does Nick Wright have Stafford in his 2nd tier? Didn't the Rams lose to the Lions?

Meanwhile, Dak and the Cowboys won decisively, yet Dak is listed in the 3rd tier???

All the stans have done for the past 8 years is constantly point out Dak's stats. He has a mediocre season opener and suddenly the stat line is deceptive? That he went into garbage time early because the game was essentially over?

Is there no end to the excuses this guy gets?

I'm sure you think Dak deserves placement into a tier well above the 1st tier, but I watched a different game this past Sunday. I thought it was a performance that was way below average and borderline garbage for a player who just received the largest pay day in NFL history. But you and the OP think otherwise. Who am I to try to change the minds of the inexorable masses. I won't even bother wasting my time.

I felt he had an average game...solid first half, pretty sub par second half. It was against a top tier defense so it was a lot better than I was expecting to see, honestly. If Ward didn't drop a sure pick 6 that game could have swung around quick.

This game sort of mirrored the NY games last year. 1st half control. 2nd half the offense didn't need to play well to win, just don't turn it over and let the defense eat.

Dak did a good job in the 1st half, and the 2nd half the offense/plays went into a shell to hold onto the lead. Could he played better in the 2nd, sure, but he didn't do anything stupid or play hero ball.

Cleveland has a very good defense so I was not expecting insane numbers.

I would put only MyHomie above Dak. He's head and shoulders above everyone else. I would put Dak and Stroud in the 2nd tier. But it's fair that they put him in the 3rd tier.
Purdy was throwing dimes all over the field. He's a lot younger than dak....give him time.
